I don't want to hate him because what's the point. He's gone. Zero chance slot keeps him. Look at his reaction today. He's not surprised. No one is surprised.
Here's the thing though. We are stuck with him. We can and should bitch about it at the end of the season, hopefully with a trophy, but perhaps with fuck all. Till then, we've got this cunt playing sometimes. We need him to do an Igor biscan like twice and to not need him to do it ever. That's what we are praying for, for him to have no part in this story lest he's the villain. But he WILL have a part. I can promise you that. Is it a tragedy, though?

When you're going through a rough patch and are low in confidence, go back to doing the basics. Work hard. Work extremely hard. Put on that siege mamba mentality. But he jsut doesn't seem to want to get it, does he ?
Fowler's right. Nunez needs to quit his childish strop and observe players like Endo and Salah. Take a leaf from their books. Salah is a good example. Whenever he misses, he never hides. He just gets back up and go again. That's why even if he disappears for 89 mins, he still ends up scoring/assisting more than everyone else.
It's not often discussed but Salah's mental prowess is up there with the best.
Also, i dunno why the Saudis wanted to buy Nunez. He'll struggle to score in that league too, given his current form. 70M was an absolute steal and we should've bitten their hands off ! Crazy.

They have an aging midfield (bar this new lad Gonzalez). I'd rather he ran them ragged for 60 mins so they have to be subbed off for younger but less talented legs !

What annoyed me was the video last month about him and Diaz talking about it, was so unprofessional. In fact, Diaz is just as annoying at times.
I'd rather be a realist than a fantasist. Your own "method" is being outdone game by game, and people's concerns are being confirmed game by game, but you'll still just persist with referring to the data.
Ideally he should be taken out the team, have some one to one sessions with the club psychologist, have some exercises and everyone be supportive.

In fairness to Nunez, until his recent change in demeanour, he did exactly what Salah does, he didn't hide when he missed chances, he'd keep going again and again. I think the change in attitude is probably a culmination of a bad season, him clearly not being among the first choice players and the obvious fact that he will leave shortly.
I thought yesterday's lineup said it all about the future of our strikers. Jota is clearly in there because we are making the most of him being fit, as he's better than Diaz and Nunez, while Slot went with a packed midfield rather than bothering with either of them until late in the game (and neither of them offered much anyway when they came on). They're both gone in the Summer and I really couldn't care less, they've both been given probably a lot more patience and indulgence than their levels of consistency have warranted. And more than any top club would have afforded them.
The problem isn't just him though, the problem is the rest of the team having confidence in him. There have been too many occasions where he's missed shots you'd expect him to score, to the point now that you expect him to miss. He's not had any decent spell of playing well and scoring since he's been here.

Slot was very wrong not to introduce Chiesa, who is a top quality player and scores goals almost every time!. Salah taps in specialist was awful as well as Darwin who has lost all confident totally. We simply can't afford to drop points any more, the players have looked drained completely, due to no proper rotations. Best of luck against M. City

maybe....but he's had 3 seasons now and i think with his price tag, that's more than enough chances given. We've been fair with him, the managers, club, teammates, fans...i know many take the piss but there's not one fan who doesnt want to see him succeed.
It's just not happening though.
If he does a 'Brentford' again in the Cup or CL final, or does an Origi to clinch us the title, then i'll cut him some slack and he can do whatever he wants next season.
