The run continues, and on to one of the biggest games of the season. United in poor form, the reds flying, but form goes out of the window for these ones. We get an extra day of rest which could be pivotal. Let's see what United get up to tonight!

I would only look at one change from the starting XI against Atletico - Fabs in for Millie. For me, the case for Naby is that he is going to be important pressing off the ball in the advanced CM role, and the shape of the midfield will be back to normal with Fabs holding.

-----------Alisson-----------
TAA--Matip---VVD--Robbo
-------------Fabs---------------
------Hendo----Keita---------
Salah-----Bobby-----Mane-

If Jones is fit, i wouldn't be mad to see him start. Bobby should keep his place up top in my eyes too.

I know it's been said before but Keita is such irritating player. Loads of talent but just unreliable in more ways than one. I wonder whether Klopp will give Ox a go after last night.

We'll get punished if we leave their forwards in acres of space to run at VVD / Matip, which we've allowed teams to do more than we'd probably like so far this season.

He's just so fucking passive, hilarious thing about the second goal yesterday was it's one of the few times I've seen him proper try to physically fight and bully another player and he got skinned alive. If Curtis is fit i'd throw him in, having Hendo on the right of midfield and Curtis on the left with Fabinho behind him makes such a difference. I think it's about time Milner had a rest too if Curtis is back, he's a great experienced head to bring off the bench for game management in a game like this. The rest of the team picks itself, but would consider bringing Jota back in for either Mane but probably for Firmino.

He is great at pressing opposition defenders/DMs but he is very poor when players actually run at him. Not sure how that gets fixed, he likes to play the aggressor but folds when the opponent takes on that role.

I know Jota is good at pressing, but this is where Bobby is world class and having him up in Maguire & Lindelof's face could be key to winning this, for that reason Bobby has to start this one in my eyes.

Typical if Utd end our longest unbeaten run since 1989 and lift themselves.

Fuck it’d be lovely to come out the right side of 6 goal thriller again.

Allison may be the difference.

The 2 games against Utd are the first games I look for every season when the fixture list comes out. This is the big one. I hope they have a 90 min dogfight tonight to level the playing field.

We are flying, we went there last season and Klopp got his first league win there. They are a wounded beast and this is the perfect game for them to jump start their season. We only know one way to play, never take a backwards step which plays directly into their trap and the more you throw at them the likelier you are to get hit by a suckerpunch. I don't really trust Keita or Jones for this one, I wish Thiago was available.

Would delicious while keeping Ronaldo Bruno and Pogba quiet.

If they have to score I’d prefer it’s some obscure player.

I wouldn't. If someone happens to get his one goal every five years against us there's an embarrassment factor to add to the overall embuggerance effect. If they should manage to score I'd far rather it's through one of their bigger names, then we break his heart especially by beating them.

Agree with the team. I'd be tempted to start Jones instead of Keita though, if he's fit.

I really hope we learned our lesson yesterday and adjust that high line. It was ridiculously high at times yesterday, and if they start Rashford its a recipe of for disaster.
Fabinho back in the team will help our balance massively. His exclusion from the starting eleven yesterday showed that we have no other player that can step into that role in games of that magnitude.

We really need to sign a midfielder capable of playing in the DM role.

We've been linked with that kid from Monaco, Aurelien Tchouameni. Maybe that could be the right player for us. Being able to play in different midfield positions but most importantly a defensive midfielder.

never seen him play, but good news if true.

This was my thought exactly. He is great a pressing and nipping the ball, intercepting, etc. But, it seems he cannot actually defend 1-on-1 and that was a liability last night. If he can play mostly in the opponents half, it is fine, but in our back third we saw trouble.

I do think Fabinho behind solves this problem, though.

-------------------Jota----------------------
--Mane----------------------------Salah--
---------Jones---------Henderson
-----------------Fabinho---------------------
Robertson--VVD------Matip------Trent--
------------------Alisson---------------------

Press like maniacs and we'll destroy them. Jota to run himself into the ground, and then bring Firmino on for the final 30.

Yeah this team. Fabs, Jones & Jota coming in. Firmino was disappointing last night.

Morton is really looking like he could be that player in a couple of years.
Easy there Froggy....45 mins against Norwich in a cup game isn't any real indicator.

Remember when some thought Ben Woodburn could be our Coutinho?

Yeah he hasn't exactly gained superstar status in Scottish Prem. Even though Morton looked quite decent, he still has a long way to go.
