He's a sicknote. Slot pretty much confirmed it...saying he's in and out. "Sometimes he trains with us for a few days then he goes out out with an injury".

Same here (esp.after having banged the "No More Italians" drum in the past). Chiesa at his best is a cracking player and really seemed chuffed to be here. I'm not quite giving up hope yet, but it's not looking good. BTW if that's the way it stays, I'd be wanting answers from our medical people.

A player that trains then gets injured then trains and gets injured again is "pretty much" the definition of a sicknote.
I fear Slot will go overly strong for this, but he very limited for attacking options to allow some rest. It's the sort of game you need your Elliotts and Carvalhos around.
Danns is supposedly back in training so it'd be nice if Slot have him a chance if he's ready. Going to strong in the League Cup contributed to the derailment of our season, so Slot would be wise to learn from it.

Nyoni’s not ready - Morton gets kept because he has to earn his chance - I’m all for giving him 30 mins.
If we were playing Walsall, at home, then yes… but we’re not - a win here with a slightly rotated team is important.
But equally, losing to Brighton before that game ant Anfield isn’t great preparation.
The league cup tie will have no bearing on the league game.
