Post match chat Liverpool v Everton

I thought Downing had one of his better games for us.

He came into later on, I thought in the first half he and Henderson were on the fringes of it, when they swapped sides it seemed to work and he put a few good balls in, Henderson also took a few players on and played a cracking ball through for Luis, but that aside, even late on, you could see Luis playing across the frontline more and trying to drag players and stretch the play.

I will hold my hands up with regards to carra. yesterday I let him have it both barrels with regards to the everton goal but having watched the match again, agger has ample chance to clear his lines first and then carra attempts to hack clear when agger failed to. still think carra shouldn't have started today though, or any other game for the rest of this season.

something needs to tell downing to stop trying to be clever and simply boot the ball into space and beat the defender for pace. downing has done this two times in two matches he has played and utterly roasted the fullback. it's a simply trick but if it's effective then do it. downing looks a little hopeless when he is trying to 'trick' his way past a defender, there was one time he tried to so this and actually moves forwards...without the ball. stick to the simple stuff stu.

Yes a little silly, but from the context it is clear he means no harm. Of course context never stopped the outragers from outraging.

shoot me down in flames but I actually celebrated the b'burn midweek winner more than I celebrated the semi final. maybe it's because of our run recently and the way we battled with 10 men but I totally lost it when carroll scored in extra time.

To touch on Mark's point, I was disappointed in the Everton fans too. After Carroll scored, hordes of them left - there was still about 8 minutes to play including injury time. A bit disappointing as I don't mind Evertonians most of the time.

"I stand by what I said yesterday - I question whether Everton genuinely believe they can beat Liverpool. Psychological."

This is probably the main reason why I never doubted us winning yesterday.
However the way we won it is a bit discomforting. It's gonna be a massive challenge in the final whoever we play and Kenny just can't afford to get the first XI selection wrong for that game. It's 3 weeks away, I know.
But I'll tell you right now that I'm not feeling that confident.
The stat saying that we've lost every final we've played in after beating Everton in the semi's, isn't exactly reassuring either.

Well up to then all their team produced was an offside shot from Jelavic.....

So can some match goers she'd some light on the atmosphere before & after?

Heard no reports of trouble at all which is good, esp considering how much the press likes to stick the boot into scousers.

Moyes can do one with all the 'missed opportunity' talk.

We could and should scored 4 or 5 yesterday and a better side would have done so, we were shocking in the first 45 and they still couldnt create jack shit..

Had Moyes been a little more adventurous with his line up and tactics in the first half they could have really hurt us.
We were all over the place.

There wasn't any trouble at all. I walked round past the Everton end at full time to get to the station and bar one incident with some bluenose prick mouthing off at one of our fans, there wasn't a squeak.

Mingling in amongst their fans to get on the train, the general consensus was they were so fucked off about their 2nd half performance that they couldn't be arsed even giving us any stick.

Proud of or city yesterday.

I don't think Keown wanted to say little rat - his mind just let him down with an alternative.

Moyes is a bitter cunt. The way he and Kendrick were celebrating when they scored, you would have thought that they won it. So much for all the neutrals and the nation supporting Everton. It made no difference in the end. We just wanted it more.

The bitters were devastated. What a sweet derby victory!
