Like I say, he needs to learn to pace himself.
If he doesn't run himself into the ground, I'm not sure he offers that much, given his form for the club.

i was just writing something similar, never write Elliott off. the boy doesn’t know when he’s beatenIt doesn't really matter whether Slot rates Harvey right now. Harvey will prove his worth and put himself in the picture. It's what he does. There were times when he seemed to drop out of Klopp's plans, he always forced himself back in.
Can't imagine either of these starting but It's conceivable that Harvey could make an appearance of of the bench all things considered.I have a feeling that Slot doesn't rate Elliott at all.
Danns has a long way to go. I think he's getting a loan move in January, same with Morton.
Or Morton gets sold.
Obviously it all depends on the injury situation or if we make any moves.
It's possible. He'll have the same role Quansah has. Can't imagine either of these starting but It's conceivable that Harvey could make an appearance of of the bench all things considered.
I think there is only one position in that midfield that is up for grabs and Elliott doesn't suit that under Slot. Even if Szobo isn't playing his best at present he still runs his bollocks off up and down the pitch and is a damn good defender too - something Elliott isn't - and Elliott isn't going to surpass Szobo on ground covered either. So we may gain something in attack when he plays but lose in defence.Elliott will do what Elliott does best, and that's make people look fucking stupid.
The boy will be a consistent starter soon enough

He's not going to replace either of the double pivot (Gravy & Macca) for sure. And the way Jones is playing he won't dislodge him.
That makes him a backup/sub midfielder for Szobo and Mo. (and if/when Chiesa is ever fit that's another door closed). And if we get a Zubimendi or A.N.Other in January then he drops further down the pecking order with Endo and Morton the pivot backups. Last season he had me won over but that was under Klopp and I'm not sure he will be given that leeway under Slot. He's midfielder #5 at best now and that could be #6 by the end of next transfer window.
Of players who played 900 minutes or more, he averaged 11.2km per game.
However, Elliott has smashed that figure in his 16 appearances in the Premier League this season.
The former Fulham youngster has covered a massive 13.2km per 90 minutes, with no otherlayer with five or more appearances running more.
Curtis Jones is closest to Elliott, averaging 12.6km in an impressive campaign.
I reckon it'll be Gomez (fully rested) and Konate.First training session is today. Virgil will probably play I reckon. We dont play until Sunday.

Surprises me but fair do's. He's still a poor tackler and inferior defender so although he was playing great end of last season and early doors, I just can't see him breaking into the 'starting' team. And a new midfielder will likely exacerbate that.Harvey Elliott on track to beat James Milner Premier League record this season
Harvey Elliott's impressive form is evidenced in a stat which James Milner would be extremely proud of.www.sportbible.com
Harvs scored as many goals as slobs and twice as many assists despite playing almost 800 fewer minutes. Just sayin
Yeah, while he might cover alot of ground he isn't particular strong or fast or good at winning the ball back / closing down.I dont think Elliot will last long at Liverpool, sadly because of his physical limitations, unless he can nail down an attacking role either as a 10 or RW. I also think that Mac is suferring a bit and his role in the team is not nailed on. Mac is best when he has license to attack which he does not do much under Slot. I see him as a liability in that double pivot role.
I missed out ”last season in the league” which gives the best like for like comparison.Elliott has 25 goal involvements in 120 games for us. Szobo has 15 in 61.
Szobo also has 100 goal involvements in 170 games from Salzburg and Leipzig.
The only thing you can take from that is that we have got two talented 10's, but so far Szobo is better and gives our midfield another level in balance, running power and work rate. The goals and assists will come.

Years ago?? September 2024?I predicted this years ago...
This is mainly a hunch, but based on what Klopp said last season and how we played early in pre season, I think Harvey expected to get a more important squad role and be more involved this season.
Three games so far, stuck on the bench for two and 13 mins on the pitch in one.
In two of the games Slot didn't even use the 5th sub, even after being 3-0 up like today.
It's a tricky situation he's in imo.
Szobo and Harvey are basically in the same age bracket, so it's not like he can wait it out.
We just bought Chiesa and he'll most likely be preferred to Harvey in the impact sub category.
We...

Most of us do.I have a tendency to exaggerate things
Yes but under Klopp and a different style of football. I just don't think he suits a Slot team for the reasons mentioned. Or not as much as the incumbents should I say.Harvs scored as many goals as slobs and twice as many assists despite playing almost 800 fewer minutes. Just sayin
Well that's a conundrum then isn't it! He's both 'not very good' and 'wonderful'!I don’t think Szoboszlai is very good at anything but running round. He had a wonderful first dozen games and been injured or meh ever since.
Barnes was wonderful but I wouldn’t want him starting now.Well that's a conundrum then isn't it! He's both 'not very good' and 'wonderful'!
The wonderful bit though proves a point - that is the level he can reach and it's up to Slot and Co. to ensure he does it on a regular basis. Which he hasn't been doing (still posting good stats though) for a couple of months.
Szobo is 24. Not exactly a pensioner!Barnes was wonderful but I wouldn’t want him starting now.
