It doesn't really matter whether Slot rates Harvey right now. Harvey will prove his worth and put himself in the picture. It's what he does. There were times when he seemed to drop out of Klopp's plans, he always forced himself back in.
I have a feeling that Slot doesn't rate Elliott at all.
Danns has a long way to go. I think he's getting a loan move in January, same with Morton.
Or Morton gets sold.
Obviously it all depends on the injury situation or if we make any moves.
I think there is only one position in that midfield that is up for grabs and Elliott doesn't suit that under Slot. Even if Szobo isn't playing his best at present he still runs his bollocks off up and down the pitch and is a damn good defender too - something Elliott isn't - and Elliott isn't going to surpass Szobo on ground covered either. So we may gain something in attack when he plays but lose in defence.
He's not going to replace either of the double pivot (Gravy & Macca) for sure. And the way Jones is playing he won't dislodge him.
That makes him a backup/sub midfielder for Szobo and Mo. (and if/when Chiesa is ever fit that's another door closed). And if we get a Zubimendi or A.N.Other in January then he drops further down the pecking order with Endo and Morton the pivot backups. Last season he had me won over but that was under Klopp and I'm not sure he will be given that leeway under Slot. He's midfielder #5 at best now and that could be #6 by the end of next transfer window.
