this is a fuckin ridiculous ..what are they playing at , who gives a fuck if he's pissed off , why sell him to a rival and weaken ourselves ? This has to be about balancing books and while i can sort of live with that , i can't in the last few minutes of the window and selling to them cunts !!! I suspect they'll make it sound like they had no option but that's shite.

So does this mean now If a player wants to leave LFC, he just has to submit a transfer request on the day and they get their wish?
Wow, I know we have improved certain things at LFC but this doesn't send a good message out to our rivals.
Chelsea won't sell to us but we will to them?
The club knew he was going long before this, they made him hand in a transfer request if he wanted to leave, and they probably even had the deal done with Chelsea before he handed it in.

The handing in of the transfer request, and the timing of it's release, was to make the fans blame the player for it. And it's worked. The Cunt.
Probably, so does that mean every transfer window is going to end up like this, fck that, it doesn't put the player in a good llight but nor the people running the club.

Meireles is entitled to ask for a wage that roughly reflects his market value. If your boss gave everyone at your work twice your wage what would say? "Oh thats fine, I have all the money I need and I love my work". Fuck off. We can argue back and forth about whose fault this is, but Meireles is not a greedy cunt for not wanting to be screwed over. Anyway, seems like we have been wanting to get rid for a while. Disappointing but not the end of the world. Meh I say.
He can ask for whatever he wants during contract negotiations. We had no reason to negotiate with him.

there is no way I wanted meireles on the wings
there is no way I wanted meireles as the support striker
you then have lucas and gerrard/adam
so where exactly was meireles going to play?

Exactly.

His agent is at fault for overseeing a meeting in which verbal agreements were made. Simple as that.

But he has a fucking clever footballer who gave 100% in each and every game, and seemed to 'get' Suarez. Why didn't we fuck the chavs off and send him abroad.

Every bone in my body says fuck him, but my brain says we needed ming.

Yep. He ain't gonna take Lampard or Mata's place.

From our point of view, We badly need Gerrard to come back fit and firing. I'm surprised we've let Aquilani and Meireles go in the same transfer window.

"Up my wage or sell me". We sold him. That was negotiation right there. As I am sure you are aware, people renegotiate contracts all the time to keep players happy or to make sure you can sell for good value.

I guess I can't argue with that.

Fucking gutted. Hope Meireles' shoulder was much more of an issue than we let on. Hope he never recovers and retires in 2 years max. Anyhoo its up to Shelvey to step up now unless Bellamy was signed to free up Henderson for a CM role.

No point keeping a player that's not happy here. Not now when we have a good atmosphere and spirit throughout the Club.

I'm surprised and disappointed Meireles has left, especially for fucking Chelsea >🙁) but fuck him.

I said at the beginning of these rumours that keeping / selling Meireles wouldn't make or break our season and I have to say my opinion hasn't changed one bit. He had one good spell at the turn of the year, won some bullshit award and people started proclaiming as some sort of legend. He doesn't really fit easily into our team, too soft for the middle of the park and too slow to play effectively out wide.

He's a good player and he'll do fine with Chelsea but I don't think we've lost much.

Of course you can (rightly) say that he made his own bed with that first contract, I am not denying that. Now he wants a better contract, other clubs are willing to pay him what he wants, and we are not. We told him to go fuck himself and he did. Great.

The celebration of the 2nd goal Raul gave Lucas the middle finger.
It was apparently a joke but makes me wonder now.

Yep, what message does this send out to rest of the team?
If you want better wages then your not happy, so we let them leave??, worked for Arsenal didn't it.
