There was an article a couple of weeks ago saying he wanted to leave over the contract situation. I can understand that to an extent, I'd feel pretty sore if I was promised a pay rise that never came.

I refuse to believe that £10k a week (and I'm assuming that he's on a 'little' more than this) is similar to being bummed in an iraqi prison. Excuse me for not 'giving a fuck' about poor off footballers doing what they love, and then demanding more money for 'doing their job'.

hmm all you can think is that the club are releasing this so as when/if he sold they can say they had no choice . Didn't they do similar with Torres ? But if they sell to chelsea then the deal better be pretty amazing .
