I don't want to judge him on this window solely. I guess somewhere inside, a part of me wants to believe he can right the many wrongs of the Summer. It's already upsetting me as I really don't know if he can. Ahhhh the joys of being a Liverpool fan.

I don't think that's our biggest problem at all. I think we have a major problem shifting the ball forwards quickly (without hoofing it) we have squad (not even team, SQUAD) where you can count on one hand the amount of players able to take players on so it's square, square, back, back, square, square. you aren't going to break down teams with that pounderous style of passing.
so for me the solution is getting a central midfielder who has the pace and drive and ability on the ball that allows the defense to sit 20 yards further forwards, so when we are making our slow pounderous passes at least we are closer to the opposition goal giving us a greater oppertunity to crave open chances. we've created chances this season but imho very rearly have we truly cut open teams and got behind them.
Yeah but there is more to my liking him than him just being 'Merican. He would be the perfect squad player for us. He can play in several different roles attacking mid, striker, or out wide if needed. He could slot into the role Henderson is being used in and would perform excellently IMO.
Not saying he would make the starting 11 for us every game but he would be a great option.

Dempsey would obviously do better than Henderson in the final 1/3 of the pitch - he's done that his whole career, and will continue to do so. We still need much better than that.
