Celtic vs Liverpool - Pre match thread

Heh, it's no surprise Suarez is so desperate to leave.

For all the talk of pushing for 4th place, we've done very little to increase our chances of doing so in the transfer market this summer.

Shame.

Pre season threads make me hate football.
I mean who's going to kill themselves in a friendly a week before the season starts.

It's the same - summer after summer after summer.

It's the most tiresome thing in the world to be a Liverpool fan.

Gerrard, Johnson and Enrique have been horrendous today.
Thank God its a pre season game

Can someone tell me why Celtic is playing a friendly after their season has started? Makes no sense unless it's for charity.

Reading through this thread its surprising to learn that the transfer window is shut already.

Re the game, I'd rather lose today and not being able to get a goal than to be frustrated next weekend.
Hopefully this will make Rodgers tweak the team and tactics.
Coutinho in centrally and Hendo on the left will be a better fit against Stoke imho.

Because they've got no competition in their league and they'll probably walk it anyway.

Might sound a bit stupid but I think we needed the loss today. We've been gifted wins all pre season.
Celtic made us work today but I wouldn't say that they deserved the win.

I'd rather lose to Celtic and be more aggressive in the transfer market, than win and go into the season content with a squad that still needs a couple more pieces.

Hopefully Rodgers uses this result as motivation to get some fresh faces in the coming weeks.
