Borini is useless on the wing

He's looking pretty agricultural. Needs space to run into and movement around him because faced with the fullback on his own he looks like he'll lose the ball 9/10.

I'd swap him and Suarez around.

If anything I'd stick Sterling down the middle, I don't feel too confident about Borini down the middle either

incidentally im sitting here in my house in Laos and the sounds of the surrounding nature are just mental! It sounds like a frog factory out there, its like living next to a go cart track they are that loud and the crickets are relentless.

Because i know we are all nature lovers on here i will of course remember to post up regular nature updates on my local flora and fauna.

my observation is that we are showing signs of a team that has potential to play very good football.

Downside is what we all know, lack of quality attacking instinct with no options on the bench. This will obviously be our downfall.

Thoughts.

Gerrard - nightmare
Passing - well astray in the final third
Suarez & Borini - need to think 'team' and need to make decisions quicker
Lucas - we are missing him
Sahin - quiet
Giroud - slow as fuck, Skrtel left him for dead !
Sterling - class and Arsenal shit buckets when he's on the ball. It was not a penalty.

I hate to say it but good football ends with goals.

At the moment we're showing we can zip it around midfield neatly but not much more. And on top of it all, we're looking defensively suspect and leaking annoying goals.

Diaby is playing like a hybrid of Vieira and Petit, easily the best player in the 1st half.

Not a particularly good Arsenal team but we're not doing enough to show that. Thankfully that French striker is shite.

Neat and tidy in midfield but it's not exactly hurting them is it?

Sterling looks good so far, Borini & Suarez poor.

Need a bit more cut and thrust.

how sloppy has gerrard been , it's like he's charging around the place but can't slow down enough when he gets the ball to control what he's doing.

Borini is a weird one , he always looks like the ball is stuck in his feet and is never fully in control of what he is doing either .Not sure what to make of him but so far i'm not too impressed although he does look to have a knack of getting in decent positions so might get a few goals.

And although their goal was on the break and a slightly different situation , it was worrying me before how they were getting players into the space behind our midfielders and between our attackers . I'm not sure if it's a formation thing or just that we are missing a more defensive minded midfielder but there were signs of it against city also .

The biggest worry is the team lacks that killer instinct . I wouldn't be surprised to see a fair few games this season where we play nice stuff but get fuck all for it .

The biggest positives were Allen again and Sterling. Forget the pace and trickery , it's Sterling's footballing abilities and short passing which has impressed me most about him .
