So you think Stevie is tired playing in cm so should move into a more demanding position?

No. He need rest every third game.

Suarez needs rest full stop, but we have no other option, he has to play.

I don't think playing forward right is that demanding - the position he plays now in this new system requires that he is that box to box player and move all over the place. Sticking him on the right at the front will make him focus on that passing and any running will be to beat a man, or provide some defensive cover for GlenJo. He can do that role.

Ok, let's try to find some positives out of this shambles:

1: We didn't pick up any injuries (that I'm aware of). And thus we still have 2 strikers (albeit strikers that can't strike).

2: Sterling and Allen were excellent once again.

3: Shelvey, although I blame him (along with Johnson) for the second goal is improving over time. He'll be a fine player someday.

4: Downing looked sharp when he came on. If he's going to be part of an attacking 3, he's definitely more suited to being on the right. Still needs a lot more work though.

5: Skrtel was making sure to double check every time he passed back to Reina.

Other than that, that was a really shit performance today. We were let down mostly by the men we'd expect to be giving us a lift (ie Stevie, Suarez, GlenJo). Surely we can't get any worse than this?

Oh, and yes, Reina was also at fault for the second goal. He should have done better, but fuck it, he was also very unlucky. It was a thunderbolt from close range and he hardly knew where the ball was when it hit him.

Oh for fuck sake, any half decent GK keeps that out. It was another Reina mistake. They're becoming the norm.

Don't think it was that big an error. Hit hard and low from close range - I thought he did well to get much on it.

Like I said - if Shelvey tracks the run instead of pulling up and watching - arena doesn't have to make a save.

Shelvey was otherwise good.

Some of our more established players think they are untouchable right now that we're broke.

Messrs Gerrard, Suarez and Reina need to feel the heat. If we can't buy bright shiny new players then we should give some of the youngsters a chance.

Maybe not against Man Utd or Arsenals but I hope Brendan decides that enough is enough soon. The hunger of players like Sterling and Allen is what we need right now.

I don't think you can question Suarez effort - he didn't stop running and chasing.

I think the problem is he needs a rest.

Hopefully it's not one of those enforced rests after another friendly conversation with his mate Patrice.

I doubt Evra will be a regular for them this season.

That said, Ferguson could well play him against us.
