Liverpool v Fulham - Match thread

I feel sick after that match. A shocking performance. At least Kenny was right in his post match comments. That bunch were a disgrace.

You forget mark, I got my first season ticket in 1991 just as Souness was dismantling the club. I've seen a lot more shite than you so I'm getting pretty good at spotting it now.

Missed the game but with team we had out did anyone expect anything different?

Our first 11 struggles to beat these sorts of teams this season.

In strange sort of way, I think we will beat Chelsea though, as KD will no doubt put a rocket up the arses of the whole squad for Saturday

Still think with the right guidance he could be a very very good player.

Come on, we all know kenny has already picked his final team. Places were never up for grabs unless someone scored 6 and megged every player 4 times before the first goal

We can actually finish 13th.. Nice.

Need 5 more points or this will be the wort ever premier league campain...

It seems the players tonight had a similar viewpoint.

We need more players who are a bit feisty, physical, always giving the opposition a hard time, difficult to play against...such as Suarez, Bellamy, Agger, Skrtel. It's no coincidence that these are also some our best players.

Maybe next season we could have 2 managers? Keep Dalglish for the tinpot cup games against Weymouth in Round 3 and then get a real manager for the rest of the time?

Fuck me....... That was hard work. I'm sorry but that has to be worst of the lot performance wise this season.

Spearing was badly found out its all good having desire but you do need talent as well and unfortunately he doesn't have it.

Outwide starting with Aurellio and Maxi on one side and Kelly and Kuyt on the other was always gonna be problem, with the fact none of them have pace or skill to beat there men. Actually the whole attacking unit was devoid of any pace, desire urgency. It was definately a case of who gives a fuck out there.

Shelvey Mehhhhh, One to many hollywood ball attempts for my liking.

Carroll was ok but the lack of support hindered him.

Some are complaining about the effort from the players.
I don't think more effort would have won us the game. This was more or less an audition for the upcoming final, how much inspiration do you actually need?

Glad to hear Carroll played well. How many goals did he score?

I remember when Torres was on that non-scoring streak earlier in the season at Chelsea and all this forum could comment on was how hard he was working and how dominant he was in the air. Fair play.

No need to read whether we won or lost by the length of this thread. It is twice the winning thread.

You know it struck me today that we have not won the legue for so many years and have not competed for it at all - I actually believe that the clubs association with the title is forgotten and completely diminished. We don't expect to win the title anymore - just look at the Mancs (united), they are not a team of stars to me , from that team the only one that would automatically add to the quality of our team without the need for a great manager to put sunshine up his backside is Rooney. The rest are not that great - they win becuase the club and manager has over the years found the right mental formula to win league titles. We on the other hand have completely forgotten it.

You know how they say Rome wasn't built in a day?
Tell that to Aguero and co at Man C.

Yes you're spot on, we're missing the right mentality but we're missing the quality as well.
The last time we had a quality side, we finished 2nd.
The reason we finished second is because Man U could replace Giggs with Nani while we replaced Lucas with Spearing.
Says it all IMO.

If our first 11 struggles to win games I don't why anyone thought the second team would do any better - absolutely dire performance. The management couldn't have/wouldn't have made any difference tonight, the personnel on the pitch were just nowhere near good enough.

Didn't see the match, went to the cinema to see the Avengers (I booked the tickets online before I even realised the match was on, slightly less annoyed now I've seen the score.)

Anyway I just wanted to say well done to Roy after reading this quote
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17821974
" it was Fulham's Alex Kacaniklic, a former Liverpool academy player, who looked the most dangerous player as Fulham continued to probe."

We'd have been better off if Roy had swapped him for some magic beans.

I can't believe this result when I remember the cloud I was on this time last year when we beat Fulham at CC so handily. It was a new era... I thought

Odd that you refuse to use the same argument for Welbeck ...

But he wasn't working hard, he was being a lazy cunt, looking short on desire, confidence and not making the runs he made of old. So it's not hypocrisy in any shape or form (oh, and for the record, I'm one of the few on here who said they'd have Torres back tomorrow and that he was by no means finished, but let's not get all self triumphant).

I don't rate Carroll that highly, but he played well enough, the lineup and the squad is poor, he needed someone playing off him for a start, Shelvey and Kuyt might be capable, but they're not going to get in behind and play around Carroll. It would have been good to see a few of his team mates show half the desire he put in last night. He's not good enough but he gave his all.

I think he is good enough, with the right support and in the right system and no I'm not talking a straight 4-4-2 with old fashioned wingers, I mean playing in and around him and feeding off the ball the wins.
