LIVERPOOL v Fulham (H)

Definitely not a scintillating performance against Roy's heroes, but we seem a quite assured (with exception of that amazing chance Fulham duffed)

Another belting cross from Kelly - Torres heads over

Our fullbacks are class - shame about the wide midfielders

Halftime

0-0

Fuck. Torres stretches and heads wide from another good Kelly cross.

If we added even one quality player to this approach, we'd be demolishing the shit teams, and competing with the good.

I'm coming around to Oncy's impatience. Fucking get someone in already.

Kelly's had a poor game defensively, he's been caught out alot and gave the ball away alot, his delivery when he's got in behind has been excellent though.

As long as we keep playing Rafa's cautious 451 we'll always struggle to break teams down, especially when they park the bus at Anfield.

It's not cautious the way it's set up, most Premiership teams play a similar way, so it's logical to pack the middle of the park, we just lack the wide men to make it work week in, week out. There's nothing cautious about it at all.
Theres nothing cautious about it today tony. Only Skrtel and Poulsen are staying back. We just havnt found the final ball.

I thought we were brilliant for about 15 mins - looked like we were going to score every time we got the ball in their half. Then our tempo dropped, and we stopped getting the ball in their half. They pressed higher than us, and created a couple of chances themselves.

We need to play with more intensity, and get the ball to Magic and Kelly whenever possible, because they've been our most dangerous outlets. I'd sub Maxi, play Kuyt closer to Torres, and push Gerrard further up.

Yeah, well actually I was thinking about swapping Gerrard and Kuyt, we're lacking a bit of fight in front of their back four and they look like they can be got at, they're nervous at the back. Definitely swap Maxi though.

We lack a bit of quality and invention up front.

Maxi isn't doing enough.
Maxi and Kuyt are not good enough to be first choice in their position, and you don't want two slow players who cut in on both sides of midfield.

Kuyt used to make up for it with his industry, but he's slowed down a bit, and unfortunately I don't think this is a temporary slump.

Good: Meireles, Kelly, Torres, Johnson, Reina, Gerrard
Needs to improve: Maxi, Kuyt, Skrtel, Agger, Poulsen

Torres has no support. He needs a partner up front.
Poulsen is completely useless in these games. Gerrard and Meireles can do the job in the middle.
Playing a DM instead of a second striker is cautious in my book

Agger and Poulsen have done ok, agree with the others though, I'm not convinced by Kelly tonight defensively, he's made a few mistakes and left Skrtel wide open to the runs of Johnson.

It's Hardcastle's fault with that jinxy "I've got a good feeling" bob !
