We've been an also ran for the last 2 decades. If you aren't used to it by now, and can't deal with it just after the club teetered near the brink of total disaster at the end of the H&G era, then you aren't ever going to be.


We aren't anywhere near Man City in ability in attack. We weren't that bad today, in fact some aspects of our play were good, but there's a lot missing. It wouldn't have been miles different whatever configuration we put out.

We haven't learnt anything new today, to be fair to a we retained possession very well, we conceded a very soft early goal, a second goal against the run of play and a third from a penalty that never was. Our problem, as it has been all season, is we're not clinical enough in the final third.

We need to buy a new striker, when with Suarez, he's not clinical enough in front of goal either.

Kuyt offers nothing.

And as for Downing, we all knew he was gonna be a bad signing when we were linked with him in every transfer window in the last three years. Downing syndrome indeed.

Im happy with Skrtel and will defend him as I did Johnson when people were hating on him. We have a really solid defence generally so I have no complaints.
Our concerns are further forward in my opinion of course Modo.

[/quote]No service at all mate. Every ball was floated onto Kompanys forehead. We maintained possession and dominated the ball but never looked like scoring to be honest. Sloppy mistakes cost us all three goals and we just didnt play well in the final third.
The reasons for leaving Bellamy and Maxi out are as yet unseen.

Carroll got utterly dominated in the air by Kompany but put in a good shift and probably could have been threat with you know, attacking players to support him. There wasn't much positive to take, besides that Henderson does seem to be growing into the CM we wanted. Kenny fucked up the team selection again, and Downing missed our best chance of the day (through 1-1) in the first 10 minutes which was set up beautifully by Henderson. I thought Skrtel was very good along with Henderson. And other than that....meh.

In his purchases we have lost faith already, in his selections its coming. Its still hard to lose total faith cause he does inspire the players and the football is pretty. But the rest is meh. I think he'll probably earn his stay for next year with a 4th place finish if we can buy well now.

Let's see who we sign in January before we start throwing toys out the pram.

We played better under Rafa than we have at any point in the last decade and more. He shouldn't be lumped in with Hodgson, who was an abject failure.
