I think it was a decent performance from us, with a mixture of our poor attacking play, and a great performance by their defense.


They are a much better team than us.


We just aren't good in attack. We dominated the midfield which was encouraging for me, but at the same time, why wouldn't you play us like that, knowing that you are likely to get some opportunities to counter, we won't punish you, and any isolated battles are in your favour.
 
Would rather have watched some porn than this. At least watching some hot lady being fucked is at least enjoyable.
 
City could have played with one player in midfield, Yaya Toure, and still they would have dominated the midfield.

What annoyed me wasn't just that City had a better midfield than us, but that we had a better midfield than us - on the bench.

Agger would never have attempted to take the ball there like Skrtel, hence why I think Agger is better.

I don't think it was a decent performance really. We might have moved the ball around at the tip of midfield but as soon as it got to Downing/Kuyt momentum was fucked.

Behind that, they played through Spearing a number of times (when he held his position). We need a better DM in Lucas' absence.

Up front, to be fair to Carroll the service and support was largely non existent. That said, he was wholly ineffectual.

so a decent win over newcastle but 2 shocking draws to bottom 3 teams and a heavy defeat to city . And the suarez rubbish as a cherry on top . Overall i'd say it's been a pretty shite Xmas period .

And with some poor results from our rivals for 4th , feels again like we've missed an opportunity ...opportunities we're going to run out of .

The goal was 4th and we're 3 points off that so i'm sure some people are happy enough with our progress , kenny seems to be , but for me it's been a very average season considering the money spent (and wasted) . And Christ knows when we'll be good enough to challenge for the real stuff .
