Is the Pepe myth finally dead and buried? He's shite.
Are you mad? People are completely blind to his weaknesses. He throws a few in every season.

How was carroll tonight? I haven't seen the game was in work so a positive summary on a 3-0 defeat please.
He was 100% shit.
So everyone else says he worked his bollocks off, had little or no service & that no one else even tried to attack, never mind get in the box, but they're all wrong, it's just that he's shit.

Let's ignore he fact that the defender marking him, Kompany, was given motm, eh?
It's easy to look good when you are marking Andy Carroll

Not shite. Just overrated. All keepers make mistakes, and Pepe makes quite a few over the course of a season.

(just saying)

i dont particularly wana single out downing from this match because frankly the whole team was shite, but i came across this highlighting his 'contribution' tonight, says it all really

A piece of commentary on us:

"Theirs was a starting XI with just eight league goals this season- Aguero has almost twice as many on his own - and a performance of possession without penetration"

To me kenny fucked tat up with his selection.... stupid to hav your best payers on the bench,,,, some daft shite during todays game.
GOD I can see all those blue triangles on the left and right handside in game. I see those fucking darting runs, the stop, the pass from foot to foot, the feign, the pass back to Enrique and Johnson.

I HATE HIM.

We haven't learnt anything new today
And that's what frustrates so much ....we've been repeating the same stuff all season and still things aren't changing .

If only Downing could've done more with that early chance. I wonder.

Sadly though, City had it easy tonight. We had some nice possession - as usual - but they didn't care because they knew that more often than not we don't really do anything with it - as usual. The most frustrating thing was the manner in which we conceded. We handed them a win on a plate.

As has been said - we didn't learn anything new tonight and as such there is no point really in getting more depressed about things. Can't score? Can't create? Pissed the best part of 60M up the wall? Knew all that shit already.

The saddest part for me was watching Gerrard trot onto the field at 31 in the freezing cold and rain when we're 2-0 down to a team that were nothing a few years back and will shortly be winning a title.

We played better under Rafa than we have at any point in the last decade and more. He shouldn't be lumped in with Hodgson, who was an abject failure.
^^^

Agreed. The pity about Rafa was that his own weaknesses ended up undoing his strengths. The pity about Hodgson was that he was wildly out of his depth.

But your "best" players does not neccesary do the best job on any given circumstances.

Gerrard- Not fit to start, and certainly not on the heaviest of rain drought pitches.
Maxi- A little leight weight at times and is going missing for parts of games. Against City we need some moving feets combined with steel to outfight their midfield. And we did outfight their midfield for most of the game.
Bellers- Have the pace to push them further back. Should probably have started, but had Downing scored, or even stepped aside Hart and won us a penalty and a redcard things would have looked different. Small margins here.
Shelvey- Looked fresh away against Villa. Good movement and could actually start ahead of Spearing with Hendo falling deeper. But against City I can see why we opted for the other and we were not overplayed at all all night.

All in all all city interviews after the match pointed out that they had been fortunate and extremelly efficient in a very difficult match.

Trying to justify that selection is pointless mate. It completely failed. We all watched it.

Until the subs came on we had next to no chance of turning it around. That's not right.

but there are reasons why those players started on the bench. we have to think about the whole season not 3 points against city.

Well its football. Sometimes things do fail. Then you have to pick yourself up and work even harder. Or of course moan instead....

Amended. We have to think about both.

My thoughts about tonights game.

Just one of those game you'll never win no matter what happens. We were the better team almost throughout. Personal errors let us down and when the ref gave us a lifeline we made sure to make a beautiful mess of it only seconds after. What on EARTH was we trying to achieve with that freekick-combo?

We will lose games over the course of a Season as we're not quite there yet in terms of walking the league. Tonight was one of those games we'd loose 10 out of 10. Not because we were particularly bad that's just the way of the game sometimes imo.

We'll hopefully learn from it, we certainly need to me more clinical in front of goal but come on it's not the end of the world. We dominated a two billion pound team at their ground they were just the lucky/clever ones on the night. Don't think we'll see Pepe make such a bad error any time soon for starters.

We'll bounce back.
