Thank God for that!

Ugh, terrible performance - apart from a couple of short spells. Unluckily, we were denied a perfectly good goal in the first half. Luckily, we scored from a joke goal in the second half.

But we need to learn to play with more composure, because those last 20 mins were scary. We also need to sign some fast, skilful wide players and forwards because Maxi and Kuyt are next to useless on the counter.

MOM Meireles. He's behind most of our attacks. Involved in the goal.
Assisted Torres for the ruled out goal.
Cleared Hangelands header from the line.

Fucking hell.

Not pretty at all.

Glen was a fucking hero throughout.

And nice to see some backs to the wall football that we didnt cave finally under and concede.

Jeezzeess Christ. I thought I was going to die there for a second. PHHHEEWW.

The 3 points is excellent, the performance was meh.

Lady luck has found us again.

Phew indeed.
It was a hard game, but 3 points are what matters now.
Could have been easier had Torres goal been allowed, but anyway, let's builda momentum.

Double yes:

Richard Keys has resigned as a Sky presenter following his sexist comments about female referee Sian Massey.

Apologising for his remarks, 53-year-old Keys accepted they had been "unacceptable", adding: "I've reached the decision it's time to move on."

give me a break lad.

3 important points, good character and fought hard to get the 3 points.
We must improve though

By jove. A bit tense towards the end there.

Towards the end? Last half hour more like

The players need to believe we can go in a run, even when we're not playing brilliantly. A clean sheet and a bit of luck gives them the feeling that things are turning around, that can only be a good thing.

Like I said, the problem with our players is they're crapping themselves as much as we are during the game, they need to be able to survive that and hold off like they did today.

Two wins on the trot, with two clean sheets. Great feeling.

Can't wait for our next game.

I love King Kenny.

Actually I agree with Le Chacal today. Torres WAS isolated. It's not simply a question of formation, but when your two wide forwards are as slow as Maxi and Kuyt, and positioned as far away from the striker, it ends up being a negative (or at least an ineffective) formation even if that's not the intention.

[/quote]And unbeaten in three.

I would imagine if we beat stoke it will be our best run in about 3 years.

Meireless MOM again for me today.

Always looked to get the ball down and play, his pressure helped get the goal and his save off the line was as good as a goal in the end.

I love this guy

We desperatly need som pace and directness on the wings and a left footed left winger.

Torres looked absolutly knackered.

Yeah, but that's not what he was saying, he was saying the setup - playing a defensive midfielder and one upfront was negative, it wasn't. He was isolated because the wide men are slow and, today at least, were poor.
