Kolo Toure deal agreed !

Dont bother Rosco. The Euro boys are in favour. It will be boring as fuck to argue.

We already have two young centre backs in Wisdom and Coates. Kelly can fill in there also. We have more than enough cover. Spending money on washed up has beens like Toure is the reason were so fucked in the first place.

I understand you're against Toure signing (I don't know where I sit yet) but do we really need the 'Euro boys' term? It's Bloods and Crypts ... stick to the script.
Yes I do.
Same old fucking bellends who are 'Ok' with signing Toure who are all over the Williams signing. BOTH are shit regardless of nationality.

Agree Kolo Toure has always been shit and I believe Ashley Williams is one of the most over rated players I've seen! We shouldn't be going near either of them.

Two points - I thought you were calling those who weren't worried about this 'Euro Boys' (I don't give a shit what nationality the players are)

I think I do agree with you though - if a player is shit, he's shit regardless of nationality.

Toure, whom has played at highest level for 10 years and mostly with success, on a free, as a 3rd/4th choice CB in a team that thrives to be in possession is OK. Nothing major, but certainly not anything near as bad a suggestion despite his alter ego as a car salesman as some make it out to be.

All we have to make sure is he's not going to get some insane Cole salary and that he's physically fit. We could do a lot worse.

Strange the UK boys don't agree, perhaps they are still hoping for a Scott Dann?

But this isn't a deal like that. He's a replacement for Carragher. Probably short deal, lower wages than Carra. The deal itself is fairly sensible - it's the ability of the player in doubt, and I'm not sure the 'transfer committee', whatever that is, should be getting involved in that side of things.

I get that, though why wouldn't the transfer committee be involved in determining if Toure makes the grade as Carra's replacement? For reasonable wages he would make a solid replacement. No more Joe Cole-esque contracts, please.

Well to me the transfer committee (I really hate that term) would set general policies and help with selecting targets. I'd hope that Rodgers would still be given control of making the final decision within those limits, though.

From all reports, Rodgers has the final say. Or so he says. And probably he does, with the committee performing more of an advisory role. Stepping in only with a veto (or intervention) when the final say is a Clint Dempsey or Ashley Williams.

Never miss an opportunity to have a dig at the club do you mate.
Our last two signings were Coutinho and Sturridge.
And yeah lets not sell kits, then we can shop in Budgens.

Boring cunt.

How dare you say anything against my fave poster of the moment! I must insist you desist.

Cunt.

Hasn't this chappie been banned for failing a drug test? Does that make him a twat?

He was only trying to lose a bit of his belly fat Spion.
Nothing wrong with that. And he needs every bit if help he can get, since he is in his forties

I haven't seen him play for a long time, at least a year or two and he didn't impress me then. When he was good for Arsenal though, he was brilliant - probably eight years ago now. It's difficult to feel excited about this but if it allows us to use additional resources to get someone younger and better then it could be ok.

Someone younger you say?

Come to Papa! LFC plan £12m Kyriakos Papadopoulos swoop

Greek international centre-back targeted as Jamie Carragher replacement

Liverpool FC want to sign Kyriakos Papadopoulos of FC Schalke 04
Liverpool FC are set to launch a £12million bid to sign Schalke centre-back Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
The Reds have identified the 21-year-old Greek international as their No 1 target to replace Jamie Carragher.
* Potential LFC centre-back options for 2013/14 - the contenders
Papadopoulos missed the second half of the Bundesliga season after undergoing surgery on his left knee back in December but has now recovered and Liverpool have no concerns over his long-term fitness.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have also been linked with the highly-rated 6ft defender but the Reds are ready to act fast in the hope of winning the battle for his services.
Physically strong, comfortable in possession and dominant in the air, Papadopoulos has jumped above Swansea City's Ashley Williams and Ajax's Toby Alderweireld on the club's wish list of centre-backs.
The ECHO understands Liverpool are no longer interested in Williams with the Welsh club's £12million price tag for a player who turns 29 in August leading to them pursuing other options which provide better value.
As well as making a move for Papadopoulos, boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to further bolster his defensive options by completing deals for Manchester City's Kolo Toure and Sporting Lisbon's Tiago Ilori.
Ivory Coast international Toure is available on a free transfer as his contract at Eastlands expires this summer.
The 32-year-old is expected to hold talks with the Reds when he returns from Man City's end of season tour of America next week.
Rodgers is wary of the need to add more experience to his squad and believes Toure fits the bill.
Liverpool have been tracking Ilori for months and hoped the 20-year-old Portugal youth international centre-back would be available for around £1.5million.
However, having established himself in Sporting's first team towards the end of the campaign his value has increased.
It is likely to take a bid of around £3million to convince the cash-strapped Portuguese outfit to sell.
While Ilori is viewed as one for the future, Liverpool believe Papadopoulos would be able to come in and make an immediate impact in the Premier League.
Papadopoulos started his career at home town club Svoronos Katerinis before signing for Olympiacos in 2007.
When he made his first-team debut at the age of 15 he became the youngest player to every play in the Greek league.
He earned rave reviews for his performances for both Olympiakos and Greece Under-21s and in the summer of 2010 he moved to Schalke for around £2million.
During his three years in Germany his stock has continued to rise across Europe and he helped them reach the last 16 of this season's Champions League.
Back in August, Zenit St Petersburg had a £16million offer for Papadopoulos accepted but the player rejected the opportunity to join the wealthy Russian club and penned a new deal until 2016.
Schalke finished fourth in the Bundesliga last weekend to qualify for the Champions League but once again they are willing to sell Papadopoulos and Liverpool believe the Greece international would jump at the chance to make the switch to Anfield.

Well, let's see, he's shit, he's a massive twat, and I've always hated him.We really are shopping in Lidl these days aren't we?
I look forward to seeing him in our new red kit (only available for 1 year only folks)

An abundance of positivity you are. It's May. It's a rumour. The last two players we signed are AMAZING. So where the fuck has this notion that we're "shopping in Lidl" come from?

You must be suicidal by then end of June. We have to put up with this bullshit every Summer from impatient, over excited idiots. Have a look at what we've spent over the last few transfer windows in comparison to most and while you're at it, stop fucking moaning about every little aspect of the club that you can.

The good thing is that we've ended our interest in Williams.
We probably need to sign 3 CBs this summer. One of them will be in the Toure group of players.

Papa to replace Skrtel
Ilori to replace Coates
Toure to replace Carra

I'm not to keen on Toure, but for free and low wages I wouldnt mind that much.
Hopefully he wont play to much, but add some experience and winning mentality.

We need to get 1 quality CB (Papa)
Ilori looks the part aswell and will add pace

No, I won't stop moaning.
I was born during Shanks, grew up going the game during his and Bob's era. We were run by John Smith and Peter Robinson. I had a season ticket from 86-91, I have since watched us be owned and run by utter fools, spent 20 years with us being 'two or three players short of winning a title'. Watched as that twat Moores ruined us, H&G nearly put us out of business, and now we have a club run by a committee of well-meaning but naive non-football people as we scrabble around for the scraps.
We are fucking Liverpool!
And when I was screaming my head of in Rome, or Wembley or Dortmund or Istanbul I was happy, fully and delightedly happy.
And when I was woken from a coma by Kenny after Hillsborough the club stood by me and my family.
And when I drive from Bristol and pay through the nose to watch a turgid game and we don't win I am as utterly devastated as I was when I walked back to car in North London in tears with my old man explaining that 'you can't win every game, son' after the '77 cup final.
Because they are my club and how they are run, who we buy, how we are perceived by others and what we achieve on the field still affect me in more ways than is healthy for a grown man.
So no, I won't stop moaning when we are linked to a fuckwit like Kolo Toure two days after one of the last remaining real footballers has hung up his boots.

It's a link, the first of hundreds this Summer, like every Summer.

"I was born during Shanks" - Grow the fuck up then.

Have a look at who we've bought of late, it's improved and if you can't at least acknowledge as much then there's not much point arguing the toss, because, as is pretty fucking obvious, you're intent about moaning about it anyway!

When have I ever denigrated the signings of the better buys Rodgers has made? I was delighted when we got Sturridge, I wanted him when he left Citeh.
I don't need to grow up as you put it, I'm just gutted with how far we have fallen in the last couple of years. The only way I can defend myself nowadays from the hope that kills me is to put up a wall.
I've been called tedious by you today, and a boring cunt by Herr. Happy days indeed.

Two CB's is all we need..

Experinced and a Signing for now and the future..

Kolo and popodumpolas fits the bill..

We have Wisdom, Kelly and maybe Coates that can also play CB.. so buying a third is going too far imho...

Lads, let's cut the negative down a wee bit (just a wee bit) and the rancid comments @ each other. Sean, It's just a rumor, and as Mark says in his Barbara Streisand Jewish new York accent, "We've only just begun..."
