His stats are incredible ... Can he reach Messi/Ronaldo heights?

Most likely, as it gets fucking freezing in Spain in the winter.

Seem to remember loads of people saying he was shite. That went well. Fantastic player.

I didn't rate Neymer that highly until I went to the world cup and watch him both live at the ground and more closely in the other games.

He really blew me away.

He's not at that level yet but I'd certainly put it at the tier just below.

A very gifted player

Messi and Ronaldo have both peaked, Neymar is going to be the biggest star in football for the next 5 years or so.

Neymar lacks work rate and effort.
He would be a lot bigger by now if he did.

Considering there are really only 2 of the greatest players of all time ahead of him and hes at least 5 years younger than both of them I dont see how he could be much more successful at this point in his career

Physically bigger.

Denilson was shit. A showboat with no end product whatsoever.

Yeah he didn't live up to his hype or the 20 odd million Betis paid for him. That was a lot of money back then for them. Where did they get that kind of cash?

He did star in that deadly Nike ad at the airport. I'll give him that.

Yeah, he was the world record transfer fee holder for a time.

Just checked his career record. 31 goals in about 350 appearances. That's seriously pathetic.

Yeah but what price do you put on double step overs ? He definitely had over a million of them.

Hes brazilian. He will be finished in two years. Snorting coke off a one legged hooker.

I remember having a conversation about Neymar with a friend a season or two ago and he was asking me to describe him as a player as he'd never seen him play well. I said at the time that whilst Neymar comes across (or is billed as) a flashy Ronaldinho type, his strength is really as a goal scorer. He can often be a bit of a non-entity for large parts of the game and then score a couple of goals.

I don't know that he's comparable to the likes of Messi or even Ronaldinho as a a player. He's got the stats and he's undeniably talented but it's still unclear to me whether he can step from out of the (relative) peripheries and genuinely lead teams.

Perhaps I'm being unfair given that he's playing in a team centered around Messi but if he wants to be compared to the best, that's what he needs to do in my opinion.
