It might be a sad day for football Roy, but I wouldn't know because I've forgotten what football looks like. You were never going to be given two years to institute some rebuilding process, and it was always going to be an uphill battle for you, but surely you knew coming in what everyone else did? That you were being given a job beyond your station and if you felt entitled to that job, you'd need to show exactly why. Not by winning everything, since our squad is a mess, not by meeting any unrealistic expectations, but by showing some mote of recovery, anything that we could point hopefully to as a sign you had consolidated our losses, and were moving in the right direction. You'll be gone soon enough if you don't try something that hasn't been tried by a manager miles better than you, that hasn't failed for you repeatedly already. Try something new. BE brave or you'll just go out with a pitiable whimper.
I mean, I know the table lies, given our tough start, but we deserve to be in the relegation zone right now, and that is deeply, deeply disturbing. I can't honestly point at three teams that I can comfortably say play less effective football than us right now on a consistent basis.
