So, how should we be lining up?

To avoid the torture of Poulsen, I'm prepared to say that I want Lucas to start.

Re: Derby

Gerrard to play off Torres.

These two need to play a blinder. Theyve done this most in the past 2 years when Gerrard has played off Torres.

Poulsen and Lucas behind him to mop up the mess and play competently 😉

Jovanovic to start ahead of Cole too for a bit more steel

Re: Derby

Shit I forgot their is actaully a football match at the weekend with all this nonsense going on..

Top week would be...

Hick & Gillete to be given the finger, New Owners, Meireles Fielded Alongside Gerrard in midfield, beat the Blue Shite in the Merseyside Derby, Torres to bag a Hattrick, Hodgson to be Sacked, Dalglish Appointed for the Interim and promised a substantial wedge to buy players in the January transfer window.

However more Likely..

Hick & Gillete to be given the finger, New Owners, Poulson Fielded Alongside Lucas, Beaten By the Blue shite, Torres out injured to Christmas, Hodgson Sacked.. MON tipped to be his successor..

Re: Derby

Assuming no new injuries from international matches:

Reina

Kelly - Carra - Agger - Konchesky (is he fit?)

Magic - Gerrard - Meireles - Cole

Kuyt - Torres

(with Kuyt and Cole swapping positions during the match)

It's amazing though, I never thought we'd be able to get another midfielder as bad as Lucas this quickly.

Re: Derby

Agger is playing on an injection again tonight so I kind of doubt he'll be ready for the Everton game (bad cycle for footballers to enter playing on injcetions week in week out). Anyways he'll probably play at LB if fit however as Roy seems adament that Carra and Skrtel are the right pairing for us. Even though that's wrong.

Baring fitness here's my starting XI:

....................................REINA....................................

MAGIC...............CARRA...........AGGER..............KONCH

..................GERRARD.................RAUL........................

KUYT............................COLE..............................MAXI

.................................TORRES.....................................

The only reason for Roy to play either Poulsen or Lucas in central is that neither of our current LW are any good.

Move Gerrard in behind Torres and Cole out on the left.

*Just read an interview with Agger where he states that he believes he's 100 pct fit again. Here's hoping.

Re: Derby

I'm not looking forward to this one at all.

If Hibbert's playing i'd like someone who can run against him so Babel or Jova to start.

Only comfort for me is that no matter how bad we've fared over the past Seasons we've somehow always got a result against the Bluenoses. We really could need another good one here.

He's turning into Harry Kewell!

Fuck me I hope not.

Re: Derby

The problem being now we are set up to play to Everton's strengths. We'll retreat deep and narrow, they'll get plenty of the ball in wide areas and it'll be an aerial bombardment. Cahill and Fellaini will get some joy and we'll probably lose.

Probably, though to be fair, in recent seasons we've done them with a couple of headers ourselves.

Harry Kewell: 139 games and 16 goals

Daniel Agger: 124 games and 7 goals

There are similarities I reckon...

Apart from a few games Kewell was quite the disappointment wasn't he? I remember how excited I was with him coming in from Leeds but all to many times promising players has turned into crap at Anfield over the past 10 years. I liked him though for some odd reason.

-------------------------Reina--------------------------

Magic----------Carra----------Skittles----------Agger/ Kelly

-----------------Meireles-------Gerrard-------------

--------Kuyt------------Cole----------------Jova

--------------------------Torres----------------------

That's our best team. No holding midfielder because The Cunt Twins are too shit to play.

Re: Derby

I'm at a wedding in Spain at the weekend and am going to be surrounded, and I mean completely out numbered, by bluenoses. So we're bound to lose.

Re: Derby

Actually i've changed tact.

We need more tekkers on the pitch, so J.Cole has to start.

As relatively unimpressive as it is, that is probably our strongest line up at the moment.
Would be even stronger if we could play both Agger and Kelly at left back.

Re: Derby

It would be funny if we beat them, just because this is our worst crisis in years and by all accounts they are playing quite well.

I dont fancy it though, half our team dont appear to have any balls. They need to get stuck in but they wont fancy it.

Yup he will play Poulsen or Lucas though.

How can you say that's our best team?

CB played out of position at LB.
Same CB pairing as the one who's leaked goal all Season.
LWer that has done absolutely nothing so far to prove he should be starting in one of the toughest games of the Season.

I refuse to believe that Jovanovic is part of our best XI.

Konchesky's injured, so who else can play out there? LW - ditto.

Re: Derby

I decided after the Blackpool game that I wouldn't watch one more game with Roy in charge. That has of course changed a bit in two weeks and I'll probably watch the B'Burn game, but this match I'm not going to see. I can't stomach it.

we're going to lose, and it won't be pretty either.

Is he still injured? What about Aurelio? (Can't imagine we've actually kept on to him).

What about Maxi at LW? I'd even play Babel or Pacheco or Shelvey ahead of Jova based on his performances so far to be honest.

Maxi's fucking shit. Aurelio's fucking shit, and always fucking injured. Konchesky's fucking shit, and probably fucking injured.

We're not exactly flush with options.

And while I like what little I've seen of Shelvey, and would obviously prefer him to that cunt Crapsen or that other cunt Lucarse, I'm not sure a Merseyside derby is th best place for a 17 year old to make his debut.
