Andy Carroll In Danger Yo !

O’Neill was being either mischievous or intriguing when asked whether he would be in the market for Andy Carroll, now that is has become clearer than ever before that he was leaving Liverpool.

O’Neill said: “Andy Carroll is a really good player, a really good player. Would be come to Sunderland?

“I really don’t know where he will end up. I genuinely don’t have a clue. I am surprised by it (the situation).”

Andy Carroll career stats

  • Newcastle (2006-11): 91 games, 33 goals
  • Preston (loan Aug 2007-08): 12 appearances, 1 goal
  • Liverpool (2011-present): 56 appearances, 11 goals
  • England (2010-present): 7 appearances, 2 goals

Great research - you should get a job at LFC - maybe the tossers who bought him could have seen those stats and it could have helped them realize that the guy is not worth £35M.

"@CaulkinTheTimes: Transfer update-ish: #NUFC won't get involved in auction after #Whu bid for Carroll. Their bid remains on table but won't be improved."

Carroll's loan move criteria

Liverpool striker would consider playing for English club in Europe

Sky Sports sources understand Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is prepared to consider a loan move to another Premier League club playing in Europe this season.
Carroll's future at Anfield is uncertain following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager and former club Newcastle United

have already failed with a bid.
The Magpies wanted to sign the England international on loan with a view to a permanent deal, but Rodgers has insisted there is 'no way' Carroll will be leaving on a temporary basis.
The 23-year-old, meanwhile, is understood to be unwilling to move on permanently, but is prepared to reluctantly consider a loan spell away from Liverpool.

West Ham United

were understood to have made a £17million bid for the forward, who has scored just six goals in 42 league appearances since his £35million move to Merseyside in January 2011.
A switch to Upton Park would not appear to be on Carroll's agenda, however, with the player favouring European football if he does leave the Reds.
Newcastle would be able to meet that demand after last season's fifth-placed finish secured a spot in the Europa League, with Tottenham Hotspur also in the same competition.
Liverpool start their own Europa League campaign next week, while Manchester City,

will be playing in the UEFA Champions League.

So out of the teams in Europe, the only possible destination is the Barcodes. None of the others will take him.
We should just keep the boy.

Based on his form towards the end of last season and the Euro's, imo he's definitely think he an option worth having.
And we won't be getting shafted in the market as well.

From a consistency perspective it's good to see that our standards of man management and expertise in the transfer market are being maintained.

It's amazing that despite so many different managers, directors and even owners we're keeping everything at that same level. Some achievement.

Now if we can match the same stability on the field, i think we'll be aces.
Champs League + Premier League double in 2013/2014 anyone?

Mr Rodgers:

"There has been a lot written about Andy, but you saw today he's happy to be here and he's worked very well since he's been here. "The reality is he's still a Liverpool player, he can fit into how I want to play, and he's happy here. "I'm certainly not wishing to push him out of the door."

Translation = You can have him if you pay over £20 million for him

erm, let me get this - they pay 2 m, he helps them stay up, then they realise they can buy a french nobody for half the price to keep them going and they decide not to take the 17m option. Or they get relegated... yeah, sounds great.

Breaking News: Fee Agreed for Carroll
CHRISTIE CORCORAN JULY 30, 2012 0
West Ham United and Liverpool Football Club have agreed a fee for the transfer of Andy Carroll
After much speculation over the number nine’s future, after a torrid time on Merseyside, it seemed his days were numbered, and now it appears his time is up.
Ian Dennis, an employee of the BBC tweeted the news moments ago.
West Ham have agreed a 2m pound loan fee with Liverpool for Andy Carroll. It’s with a view to a 17m deal providing WHUFC stay in the PL.
The striker had previously been subject to bids from Newcastle, with speculation over AC Milan and other clubs being interested. Brendan Rodgers’assured fans earlier this week that he was not looking to push the striker out of Anfield, and that the England striker could fit his system.
More as it comes…

So they'll end up paying £19m in total if they stay up and they're gonna pay his full wages. I hope this doesn't turn into another Aquilani type saga where they try to renegotiate the fee after the loan period ends.
