What other options do we have, play Lambert or Fabio? Neither of whom proved to be any better in front of goal. (V.iagra is banned word, go figure)

I think any decent young players in the reserves are worth a run for the rest of the season, whether or not Rodgers stays on there should be a massive clear out this summer.

Johnson, Toure, Borini, Balotelli, Lambert, Enrique should all be left out of the first team from this point forward as they have nothing to add. We know where we stand with them and none of them should be here next year. Id include Gerrard in that list but its somewhat inevitable he will play on the last day to get a send off from the crowd. Next season starts now effectively, not too bothered by results between now and the end of the season if we can bring through a couple of players and get them blooded for the first team

Where's that kid who scored on our tour of America 2 years ago and then celebrated the goal like Inzaghi?

And in that documentary Brendan Rodgers singled him out in front of the playing group and said "this kid has a massive future ahead of him"

Give him a run.

We got rid of him

Adam Morgan.

He's currently playing for Yeovil Town.

...for those who aren't Yesil fans.

I hope you're right Macca.

He reminds me a bit of a young Francis Jeffers. I'm not sure if that's a good thing (in the short term?) or not. He still has a long way to go from what I've seen of him.

Michael Beale has backed Samed Yesil to continue his red-hot streak in front of goal when Liverpool U21s face Everton in the mini-derby at Goodison Park tonight.

The German will be hoping to make a mark against the Reds' fierce rivals from across Stanley Park, in a game you can watch live on LFCTV from 6.30pm BST.

Yesil, who joined the club in August 2012, has plundered three goals in two appearances since battling back from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

He netted twice in the 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, before adding his name to the scoresheet once again during a friendly against Fleetwood Town.

"It's the first time for a while I've seen Samed smiling," Beale admitted to Liverpoolfc.com.

"While he has been out injured he's been a big help and a really good elder statesman in the dressing room, helping out the younger lads.

"That was his big moment at White Hart Lane. We know with Samed, if you give him the service he will score. It's now just a case of how fit he can get himself between now and the end of the season.

"Hopefully he can get a good pre-season under his belt and finally show the people of Liverpool what he can do. During the time he has been with us he has not been able to do that because of injury, which is a shame because he is a talented striker."

25 mins 1-1: a superb equaliser from Ryan Kent. Picked it up deep in their half, turned cleverly and went past a defender, then hit it low from outside the area into the corner of the net.

Half time. Decent game. Kent, Wilson and Canos looking quick and dangerous, Yesil having three shots saved.

60 mins: Yesil, who hasn't had much service, goes off for Ojo.

65 minutes: Canos off for Jerome Sinclair.

70 minutes: 2-1: Another BRILLIANT goal from Ryan Kent. Picks it up about 25 yards out, cuts inside and belts it around the keeper into the far corner. This lad gets classier and classier.

76 minutes: Sinclair cuts into the area, dribbles past defender and scores from tight angle, only for this hopeless ref to disallow it for a supposed push. Then Ojo runs into the area and wins a pen.

77 mins: 3-1: Ojo takes the pen and scores.

Great first half to watch. Great passing and intensity from our lads and a great equaliser from Kent. Nice to see Liverpool playing like they want to win. Shame about the goal conceded from a set piece though.

At the moment he's so gloriously impudent in the things he tries he really ought to be given some minutes with the first team in the final games.
