I'm sorry to tell you this mate, but I think you've got this guy all wrong. He sent me a PM the other day which simply read

"Red Astaire is a fucking ass clown. Pass it on."

I'm sorry. I really shouldn't have passed it on.
Holy fuck - How did he know I can break wind to the tune of the Benny Hill soundtrack?!!!

The Shit List @Whirly...... The Shit List.....

The annoying thing is they have a great chance to get some momentum and confidence going from the first 6 games, Van Gaal couldn't have hand picked those games better himself.

Yeah, they are Juggalos.

Not sure if I should be worried by the number of you who know that though.

First 8 aren't too bad really couldn't ask for a better start for the new manager to embed his tactics.

August
16 Swansea City H
23 Sunderland A
30 Burnley A

September
13 Queens Park Rangers H
20 Leicester City A
27 West Ham United H

October
4 Everton H
18 West Bromwich Albion A

However, an easy start just means a tough finush. If we aren't up near the top or top after the first 7/8 games we won't finish in the top 4

Can't ask for better can you?

Think those 8 games will have a big bearing on how your season will go, you really want 5-2-1 minimum out of that, 6-2-2 is a decent guide after 10 games, 20 points puts you well on course for a CL spot.

If you stumble through those first 8 with a 4-2-2 record or worse it could well be another long season with the all the tough games to come, here's hoping anyway!

Yeah it turns nasty after that!

So we would need to be on or really close to 20 points after 10 games.

Can't disagree with much of this.

However with one additional top CM Carrick, Fellaini, Valencia and Nani won't be much more than backup.

In defense with the signing of one world class CB I think Evans, Smalling and Jones are good enough. Not perfect but no worse than the other top 4 challengers.

Carrick - 18M
Fellaini - 28M
Valencia - 18M
Nani - 18M

That's some expensive "back up" right there.

Very true but not sure of the relevance their historic price makes to their current position and status.

Carrick and Nani signed almost 8 years ago.
Were the fees excessive? Absolutely.
But at different times both have played really well and contributes to title wins. So in the end I cannot complain about what we paid.

Carrick's the only one out of that lot that came close to value for money.

I'm only messing fella - I just like having a thread about Utd that includes a Utd fan who (to his his credit) has been succinct and reasonable with his analysis of his team. In my opinion it adds to the diversity of the site and makes for an interesting read. I mean this is 6CM not fucking RAWK - You know what I mean?

Anyone who supports another team but hangs around on a rival team's site has a deep psychological flaw. Not that I don't have one myself, but thought it worth mentioning. Bizarre way to spend your time.

Nani is shit now but he gave us a couple of very good seasons with 10+ goals and assists. Expensive but probably just about worth it if we can flog him for £7m to £8m.
