Everton threw the game ? maybe not every player, but there was some out there that obviously weren't trying

Think Spurs result was the reason for that, accompanied with a few returns from injury, and one or two just shite (Alcaraz). That and a gobshite crowd.

I don't think they threw the game, I think Martinez got it wrong with the 3-5-2 line up.
Just goes to show that he didn't care too much about this game either. If this was an important game for Everton, he would have never tried a new formation.
Some Everton players tried, some couldn't be arsed but in the end I don't blame them because we had it in our own hands and we threw it away.

they weren't up for it until lukaku scored and instinct kicked in thinking a comeback could be on . There was little urgency before that and if they were influenced by the crowd but martinez really wanted effort then he should go through them . He won't do , they did enough to pretend they were up for it.

Glad I didn't watch it and spent it boozing instead.

We can't worry about other teams doing us a favour as we had our chance and I don't expect us to win the title now.

If we were to be worthy winners, we should be been able to get past Chelsea at home at that stage of the season.

I thought some of their players threw it. Baines looked half arsed throughout and was continually passing it back, they were playing it along their backline at half pace with 5 minutes left.

It was in our hands and we can only blame ourselves for Chelsea, but there's no way Everton showed the same intensity they have in other big games. At least when we beat them, it was because we gave them a 20 minute onslaught of attacks. City were ordinary today.

And if people genuinely believe them Everton players played with their usual endeavour and intensity today something's badly wrong. Was a timid, half arsed performance and that's putting it nicely,

With Europe guaranteed that would have always been the case imo.

they didn't give a shit does NOT equal they threw the game ... it's just like most teams will play at season's end, with only individuals (like Barkley, Defeloeu, Lukaku did today for example) giving 100% for varying reasons (new contract, want to impress potential suitors still, World Cup etc).

bit of a disgrace with a possibility of 4th still on the cards though. I thought Baines looked disinterested, Howard was beaten far too easily for the first two goals aswell. On 85 minutes they were playing it around for a minute or so at the back, with no desire to get it forward - when a goal down. That says it all about their attitude IMO, Barkley was one of only a few who looked like he wanted to take the initiative.

It was very hard, very intense as well", Kompany told Sky Sports.

"I was thinking during the game as well 'I think the Everton players have a lot of friends at Liverpool'.

"When you take the lead [against Everton] it's never finished. They always find a way back into the game", he added.

Kompany is now hopeful that the Citizens can take their winning form into the final two games of the season, both at home, against Aston Villa and West Ham respectively.

"If we carry on like this in the next two home games it should be enough [to win the title]."

ha , yeah right vincent you fuckwit

True, but I was expecting more from them.
Baines, Osman, Howard, Alcaraz etc looked in holiday mode already.
The atmosphere was weird aswell.

Shame we had to rely on the Blueshites. Maybe a relaxed with nothing to play for Villa or WH will offer more fight.
Nolan will be fired up and would love to help us win it.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Citeh will win both games.
Agree with those who said we had it in our hands andthrew it away. We can't complain about others.

I'd just say that Dzeko's time wasting was disgusting. First, Chelsea do it from the first minute. Then Dzeko does it. Both refs hardly do anything agaisnt it. And then the media say Suarez is a dirty player...

I thought Howard was pathetic, he definitely should have saved the header from Dzeko. But then again I always have a dislike for him, firstly because he is ex scum and secondly, because he is a co commentator in the US for some Liverpool games and is so shit and biased.

Agureo's goal was of the king Pepe got crucified for letting in at the near post.

Yes, I thought so too. I think Howard was covering the far post and got done on the near post. I think some of their players were ordinary and I have always thought Alcaraz and Naismith, for example, were below rubbish.

Right. But. The fact that the crowd were singing, Steve Gerrard Gerrard, he slipped on his fookin arse, etc., shows where their mentality is. Fucking bitter cunt of a club and fans.

This is also true but we shouldn't be reliant on any other team. Other than Villa and West Ham 😉

I couldn't believe it at half time when the pundits excused Howard for both goals. The first one was pretty odd but the second one was downright peculiar, he seemed to dive in slow motion. I don't know what he intended, but it was a very strange performance.
