They did, didn't they ?

City were really poor though DB, the way they got the first two goals was thanks to two pieces of poor goalkeeping and some really lax defending. Barkley's goal was brilliant, but how many of them come off? I don't think they particularly ran them close, City looked like they would score everytime they went forward, without ever having to get out of 2nd gear. Everton for the most part, pissed about with the ball at the back.
Indeed, but Everton are shite, asking them to play like it's a cup final when its a nothing game for them is always going to be a big ask

It wasn't a nothing game though. I really don't get this from us or them. They were guaranteed 5th and were still in with a shout of finishing 4th, there's a massive difference in prestige and revenue there. Like I said, it says loads for their ambition and kinda compounds the point that they were more interested in seeing us fuck up than succeeding themselves. I'm not trying to say there was some mad conspiracy to fuck us over, but there was clearly a conflict.

They were playing the league leaders on the back of a season of great improvement and some good football, with the potential to go one better. It looked like a Sunny afternoon against a midtable side, to compound a midtable finish.

Fans yes, players no for me. They are pros. I didn't think they played below themselves at all. City have cut defenses up routinely all season long.

So Martinez went into the dressing game and told them to roll over? It's either that or a few players risked a roasting from the manager and the fans. And for what? I can see why fans are upset and disappointed about the end to the season as it appears now, but this is sad. There's no conspiracy. They played and lost. The end.

For everyone in this thread that said it was rubbish to say Everton didn't throw the game, how wrong does it look like you were now after that game ? Palace at 0-3 down chased every ball down, jumped for every header, continued to show effort, passion, and they had nothing to play for, I'm not blaming Everton for us not winning the league, because we threw it away ourselves, but they certainly didn't put in the effort and passion that Palace did tonight
