The Reina problem.

If all 20 first choice keepers in the Prem were randomly divvied out to the clubs, I'd be happy to take my chances. There are loads who are better than him.

So he was good when he had the ball? But not when someone was hitting it at him?

He's one of the better keepers out there with the ball at his feet. Rodgers wants a keeper who can distribute the ball and be an option in posession.

Get over the gaff.

Let's play Agger in nets, he's good with the ball at his feet.

Errmmm, this is like his 7th season with us? Think we've already formed our opinion of Reina.

Good for you. I'm hoping a new manager and different coaching staff can bring out the best of him again.
We've played 4-5 games so far.

I still remember the days when we'd scrape a 1-0 with Pepe making 1 or 2 World Class saves. I'd love to see them come around again, as he was genuinely winning up points but now there are a lot more errors creeping in.

I still think he can get back to his best, but it needs to happen soon.

Play him outfield then because he's no use at that keeping the ball out of the net lark.

If a Keeper can distribute the ball well it's an added bonus but it's hardly essential.

Once again we're seeing people spouting irrelevent bullshit to deflect attention away from the main talking point here and that is Reina's increasingly poor performances.

He does seem to have lost some motivation. It's hardly surprising, but if he wants to be part of a real rebuilding project, and we hope to improve, he'll have to find his edge again.

That said, he's not irretrievably shit.

Reina admitted: "Yes, well Van der Sar will hang up his gloves in the summer so of course they are looking.
"I can't do anything. I can't say anything logically as I have a contract with Liverpool.
"Of course one likes to fight for titles and be in a team that does that.
"We always fought to be in the Champions League and try to win the title.
"But unfortunately it hasn't been the case in the last couple of years."
The Spaniard admitted he would look for a move away from the club if Liverpool failed to nab a UEFA Champions League place again this season.
Reina said: "I won't lie, I want to play in the Champions League and challenge for titles.

Yeah, I think he lost a lot of love there.

Or preferably not challenge, and leave it to his fucking defenders who are better at it than he.

I'm kinda surprised that so many agree.

Let's get some torches lit and get round to the useless manc cunt's house.

Wasn't there something about the goalkeeping coach getting the boot and being replaced by some gimp when Roy took over.

Reina didn't like the new training regime or something and that was one of the reasons cited for both form drop and thinking about moving on.

I think we're far too harsh on him - he still makes a fair few great saves, but his howlers are more noticeable.

Still think he's one of the top keepers in the league.

So there.

His gaffs have nothing to do with his athleticism and reflexes supposedly declining.
He just needs to get his head sorted.
Scum have a far worse error-prone, less athletic keeper, and they were 30 something points above us last season, losing the title on the final day.
Reina is not an issue right now. We scored 2 goals over 2 legs against fecking Hearts.
That's the issue.

He is becoming increasingly error prone and he's costing us points but the main reason is as JM says - we're toothless up front STILL. Nice to see Woland speaking about one of our players in a positive light though. What a refreshing change. I'm being sarcastic of course.

But people say Suarez not being able to put the ball in the net isn't a problem either?

The sooner people realise that players they rate not doing their job well enough is a problem for the team the sooner we'll come to a realistic evaluation of what we have and what we need.

You miss the point by a mile with Suarez. We need a striker, it's two separate issues. Could he be more clinical? Yeah. Is he a nightmare to play against and a big asset to an attack? Course he is.
