The Reina problem.

He will if he keeps making mistakes like he did against Hearts and City. I guess it's wether or not you believe they're blips or a sign of things to come.

Even when Pepe was winning the golden gloves awards he still let in some very soft goals, i'm saying it's a blip.

Staff at Reina's local celebrate another request for a light snack.

The thing I like about Reina is that he doesn't let mistakes faze him.
Best example is from the FA cup final 2006.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Pepe.
Thirty today.
It's all down hill from here

Name them

You want me to rattle of a list of players across Europe, none of whom will have been linked, because you made a hysterical statement to the effect of Reina being the best we'll be able to do for the next few years? CBA with that, but I'd estimate that there's a good 15-20 across europe who'd be at the right price and could perform to Reina's level or higher. A few of which are at clubs not playing any european football, and might be on about 5k a week, so something tells me that we would be able to attract some of them.

Clearly I rate Reina a lot higher than you do.

Reina has been poor for a long time. We should have cashed in when the big offers came in but understandably there weren't too many quality keepers available. Now its a different story. Pepe isn't motivated and doesn't feel pressure from the reserve keeper. He needs to be read the riot act and take his head out of his arse.

Lloris for one, he's as good as Reina IMO and the deal with Spurs is far from done. I also like the lad at CSKA Moscow.

Lloris is a good keeper but I doubt he'd be even as cheap as we'd have to let Pepe go for at his age, let alone cheaper. Don't know enough about the CSKA keeper to comment on him directly, but Russian players in general don't have a good track record here.

The Bayern Munchen Gladbach young keeper is supposed to be the dogs.
We should be thinking of doing what Man City did with Given and Hart

My point was there's young good options out there. Reina has had two very off seasons and it looks like it could be another, and he's on big money and he's only getting older. It's not he biggest concern this year, but I'd be looking to address it next summer.

Pepe Reina has until January to show Brendan Rodgers he can fit into the new Liverpool and stop the club searching for a rival first-choice goalkeeper.

And Liverpool have moved to try to avoid future transfer deadline disasters by attempting to complete their new recruitment set-up ahead of schedule.

Goalkeeper Reina has made a disappointing start to the season, making bad errors against Hearts and Arsenal. The Spaniard also looks uncomfortable with Rodgers’ style of encouraging his defenders to pass to and receive the ball from the keeper.

Reina has been a wonderful servant to Liverpool and has often performed heroics since signing for the club from Villarreal for £6m in 2005. But there is a feeling he lacks serious competition from reserves Brad Jones and Alexander Doni.

Rodgers could look for a promising up-and-coming keeper to put pressure on Reina. But if the 30-year-old does not improve, then he will also consider trying to take his former Swansea keeper, 28-year-old Michel Vorm, to Anfield.

Liverpool are confident they will perform much better in the January transfer window and will immediately start work on identifying targets.

Rodgers wants the men who will be responsible for finding new talent, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter, to start work this month.

It had been expected Fallows and Hunter would not formally join Liverpool from Manchester City until 2013. But, following the botched summer transfer window, the Anfield club are trying to rush their appointments through.

Fallows will be head of scouting and recruitment. Hunter will be chief scout.

Rodgers said: “Hopefully, this month our scouting team comes together and there will be a lot of great work between now and then, finding the targets that will fit into the way we are going to play going forward.”

What is the point of getting in Man citys scouts? We want to get in their fucking owners!

Reina hasnt been playing well for a while and he does not look arsed it is true but IMO he is still a very good keeper and if he can snap out of it still one of the very best. Whoever wrote that fake article is a gaylord.

Ter Stegen as Count mentioned is one of the best young keepers around. Would cost a fortune mind.

Butland is not the answer and Lloris is overrated.
