Suarez crying

I reckon Luis has played himself out of a move. He's been so good his transfer fee is going to be enormous at this point. FFP is going to make it difficult for clubs to bid and stay within the rules. Only a couple of clubs could do it.

As for weeping, well he's a totally committed and emotional lad. If anything's going to set you off it's the sheer frustration he must have felt last night. I'm sure they were tears of frustration.

In the light of a new day and with his family consoling him he'll see that it's not the end of the world and there's still a faint hope things will go his way.

Trouble is, it's the hope that kills you.

Blood, sweat and sometimes tears. I'd accept nothing less from an LFC player to be honest.

I think the way Gerrard looked after him was outstanding captain work, consoling him and keeping the camera out of his face.

While not particularly related to Suarez crying - I had a kind of weird mortality moment yesterday. To me Suarez is a proper hero. He brings the child like glee I have as a football fan out in me. Watching him play makes me feel 11yrs old and down the park with my mates - A little bit of world cup doubles or knockout. I got a sobering reality check that I'm actually 12 years older than him and well past my footy peak (😉)

Oh well. He might not win us the league but he makes me love football all over again.

If we had one more like him (like Gerrard in his pomp) then we would have had the title by now. His character is what this club has been waiting for many years to bring us to live. Going back to our past glories we had a team full of them. You get the feeling now that he may move on after the sadness of this season. A winner can only take so much losing. I think he was kind of bewildered at how we lost the 3-0 lead we worked for in such a short time.

I wouldn't be surprised if he left quite late on in the summer; a combination of waiting until after the World Cup and also waiting to see who we sign that will give him hope we'll have a better defence next season. He must be crushed right now because he gave an impossible amount to last night's game only to see a series of the same old defensive fuckups throw it all away.

His being so emotionally committed could take him in either of two directions. Yes, it could mean he decides to move on if a big enough bid comes in for him and he doesn't see us making a realistic challenge next season. On the other hand, it could equally make him more determined than ever to ensure we challenge again, and successfully this time, so he doesn't have to feel like the task of winning with us has bested him.

On a related topic, that hopeless blowhard Tony Evans was on TalkSh!te earlier giving it large about Suarez' crying looking like he knew he was off. This guy claims to be a Liverpool fan. With "friends" like that....

I think he'll stay. Happy for him to be playing in his first World Cup but I hope Uruguay go out at the group stages, he needs a good rest.

You don't remember the goal line hand ball clearance in the last one?

Do you think Gary will be upset when he figures it out?

His crying said more about him than anything. Even his speech at the awards - he's just grown so much.

I wonder if some of his drop-off is other teams figuring out how to play him, or if it's just that he was SO hot mid-year.

I've just felt so bad for the boys all day.

Ha ha wtf Gary?

Hey Ross do you think Suarez sobbed because his clause was that he had to stay playing for a team supported by 'fans' like you if Liverpool lost the league?

No he probably missed out on a big bonus.

I know he doesn't give a fuck about me, you or any other fan

I had a United fan mention how much he enjoyed seeing Suarez crying, and how terrible Crystal Palace are.

I pointed out that Palace have only one less point than United in 2014, and that you'd never see Rooney that invested in United's success.

United fans will take some time to adjust to the fact that they are now supporters of a mid-table club. They are still talking arrogantly, as if they were a successful club.

If Suarez does leave he's still been the major cog (on the field) that brought me the most joy as a Liverpool fan and for that I'll be forever greatful.
How many players could come back from the hate and ridicule he received last year to perform how he has and win over his fellow peers, journalists and lfc fans(excluding Ross)

[article=http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/it-was-hard-to-see-luis-suarez-break-down-in-tears--crystal-palaces-joe-ledley-9326520.html]Joe Ledley today insisted Crystal Palace did not take any pleasure from wrecking Liverpool’s title hopes or seeing Luis Suarez break down in tears.

Palace mounted a remarkable late comeback from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Liverpool on a breathtaking night at Selhurst Park.

Brendan Rodgers later conceded the Premier League to Manchester City and a devastated Suarez left the field sobbing with his shirt pulled over his face. Steven Gerrard was also in tears at the final whistle after Palace, who scored three goals in the final 11 minutes, seriously dented Liverpool’s chances of a first League title in 24 years.

Palace midfielder Ledley was delighted with his team’s fightback but admits he did feel sympathy for Liverpool and Suarez.

“They may not get an opportunity to win the Premier League like that again,” he said. “Slipping at the last step is not nice and you do feel for them. He [Suarez] has been fantastic all season and you do not want to see things like that in football.

“He is going to be emotional and it proves how motivated he is and how much is means to him. You do not take pleasure in it but I am a Palace player and it was good to get a point against a fantastic team.”

Liverpool moved a point clear at the top but Manchester City have a game in hand and will return to the summit with a win or a draw against Aston Villa tomorrow. Manuel Pellegrini’s side host West Ham on the final day and are now firm favourites to win the title.

Palace defender Scott Dann, who grew up supporting Liverpool, said: “When the game changes like that and they are still fighting for the title, he [Suarez] probably thinks it is all over now. It shows how much he wants to win. He is that type of player and you have seen that over the past couple of years.

“But we proved that it is not over until it is over and I am sure they will keep going until the end. All the lads in their dressing room will be really disappointed. To lose a three-goal lead and probably the title is a big thing. I wanted them to win the title but, when it comes down to it, I am a Palace player and I want to win. That was no different last night.”

Liverpool were in total control thanks to goals from Joe Allen, Daniel Sturridge and Suarez but collapsed in the final minutes, conceding first to Damien Delaney and then twice to substitute Dwight Gayle.

“When they got two goals early in the second half, you are thinking it could be a long night,” said Dann. “People were probably thinking it will be a case of how many? But credit to the lads, that is the type of spirit we have got in the squad. We needed the first goal and that gave us the belief to go on.”[/article]

He'll score a hattrick - like he does against most rubbish teams
