Dirty Sanchez

I Moustache You a Question

One of my favorite players on the team.

Admittedly I haven't been able to see the last couple of games, but I have been thinking for over a month that he certainly isn't top 5 in the world and possibly just about top 5 in this league.

He looks very uncertain taking crosses, beatable from outside of the area, and a certainty not to stop a penalty.

I think we certainly have defensive issues to shore up - possibly the removal of Carragher will solve that, but Reina is starting to make me think that we should consider offers.

I dont think hes been great this last few months, but I know that he IS great. So i disagree.
Manchester United spent 20m signing the next (potential) Reina and as we've seen its no gaurantee.

I like the thumbs down from Oncy. It's adds gravitas to his post.

I also disagree with ya Sanchez. Pep didn't have the best month but he's probably the best keeper in the league along with Joe Hart. He fucked up against Stoke coming for that ball but he'll be fine. He claims to be 'mentally strong' and doesn't let mistakes affect him.

He hasn't saved a pen since a CL qualifier a few years back but he's gotten close to a few. He had a decent rep of being a penalty king from his Villareal days and has saved a good few noteworthy one's in the CL shootouts and Fa Cup final.

Is it only me who reads your name "onc-eared"?

I don't even see that just Oncy.

And I agree and disagree.

I've never rated Reina as highly as some on here but he is a very good keeper and we are lucky to not have to worry about that spot.

He hasn't missed a league game in over 4 years and you can count the number of poor games he's had in that time on 2 hands.

Don't think anyone can complain about.

He doesn't get the praise other keepers do for his shot stopping because everyone has just gotten so used to it.

But you look at Cech the other night and you have to say we are very very lucky to have him.

Not the best in the world or the league but up there and more than enough for LFC.

Binny, have you got any comparative stats between pl keepers for this season? Or for Reina across several seasons? Would like to see what the numbers say even if I take them with a pinch.

wouldn't swap him for any other keeper.

Me neither, he's been easily one of the best keepers in Europe over the last 5 years, one minor blip shouldn't really change that.

wouldn't swap him for anyone, easily the best in the prem last 5 years since cech has fallen. lets not forget he's been playing behind a poor defending unit this season by our standards, therefore he has been more exposed.

Has Cech's form fallen since he fractured his skull or is it my imagination?

You could have written that he's not been in the best of form recently and nearly everyone would have agreed instead you started one of the gayest threads ever shining with Glockful brilliance. Ban yourself in shame.

The user name is a dig at Rooney (who had just transfered to united when I picked it after wearing his Once a blue t-shirt) and by rights should be 'Once a red' as in ALWAYS a red.
Over the years this has been shortened and mixed up, for example Gene Hughes saw the shortened version as 'On-sea' others have said they thought it was 'won-key' or 'Once-eee'
Its Once a red so the abbreviation would be 'once' i suppose.
You can just call me Andy though. For a long time ive thought of changing my name to just 'Andy' as half the posters know me anyway.

Christ, he might say Joe Hart or something. Dreamy - please don't. Just type "sorry, I was wrong, there is no one better" because dreamy that's the truth and we'll all respect you more for it.

Ha. Well currently I'd put Joe Hart at no1, just.

Reina has had a poor season by his standards so far but he is more than capable of getting back there again. And thankfully respect from you is something I don't look for or I'd have changed my posting style 5 years ago.

What has Joe Hart done to deserve to be number 1? Anyone see his fumbling fuck up at the weekend. He isn't without his faults.

Reina, winner of the golden gloves award 3 times running in the premier league, in a relatively shit team isn't as good as Joe Hart.

Jesus.

By your logic Peter Schmeichel is better than Joe Hart despite the fact he's now 47.
