I thought Rooney was good. Gerrard too, at least for the first hour, and Johnson looked brilliant at times. Carra was horribly exposed alongside an equally slow CB.

England will be a better team with Barry in CM, and I'm pretty sure they'll stroll through a weak group. But it'll be the same old story unless we change the system. Playing 442 and hoofing the ball up to Heskey or Crouch is not going to work against Brazil, Spain, Holland etc.

Assuming King is crocked for the tournament, we need to play:

Magic - Terry - Upson - A. Cole

Lennon - Barry - Lampard - J. Cole

Gerrard

Rooney


Our central defence and goalkeeper will cost us in the end, but that's our best team, I'm sure.
