Taking a look at the Real Madrid SWOT and not just the hype. Take a look at the Real road to the final and decide for yourself where the strengths, threats, opportunities (for us) and weaknesses are :

A few notes:
1. They lost 1-2 at home to FC Sheriff
2. Real vs PSG - All 3 of PSG's goals were down to pace beating the Real defence
3. Donnarumma made an horrendous mistake dawdling on the ball and being dispossessed, and ...
4. Marquinhos passed across his penalty area direct to Benzema for the winner. PSG should never have lost that tie.
5. Vinicius Jnr. is not just pace - he has better step overs than Messi. However in this CL he has only got one goal from beating his opponent for pace on the left from deep and running in to score. He was far more dangerous around the box however with his tricks and passing.
6. Real got another gift from Mendy when miles out of his area he passed straight to Benzema to score.
7. Real conceded 4 goals from headers in their area - they are weak on set pieces so a great opportunity for our CBs.
8. On the same note numerous Benzema goals came from headers (5?) so VvD and Matip/Konate need to be at their best but we also how how powerful they are in the air (in defence and attack). Is that a clue to Konate starting?
9. Many (majority) of the opposition opportunities originated from Real's RB position - Diaz and Mane could be key to goals.
10. Vs City Vinicius Jnr. missed two absolute sitters in Madrid. City gave away two stupid penalties (handball and on Benzema).

Summary
We have to believe that our defence is not going to make the mistakes that have let Madrid in time and time again in this year's CL. ~
Real it has to be said have benefited from some outrageous luck (PSG x2, Chelsea x1 and City's 2 x penalties) as well as showing huge determination and no little skill in coming back to shade 3 encounters.
There has been very little said in the build up to the final about our 147 goal attack with the emphasis on Benzema and Vinicius Jnr.

A few commentators are being swayed to Real but I always find it interesting to see what they are predicting (even though they are wrong as often as correct) :

Frank Leboeuf has us winning 3-1
Stuart Robson (LFC) 2-1.
Zabaleta (LFC)
Moreno (Real)
Lorens (Real)
Nicol (LFC)
Marcotti (Real)
McManaman (LFC 3-1)
Ian Darke (LFC on penalties)
Hutchison (LFC) 2-1
Shaha (LFC) 2-1 in Extra Time.
Owen (LFC) 3-1
Joe Cole (LFC) : It's not even going to be close
Rio F. (LFC) In 90 mins
BT Sport (5 pundits giving it 2-3 to Madrid)
Sutton (LFC) 2-1
Ladyman (LFC) 3-1
Carra (LFC)
Neville (Real)
Keown (LFC) 1-0
Jenson (Real) 1-2
Herbert (LFC) 3-2

I'm still devouring as many previews as possible. Butterflies are starting.

Carra is certain Thiago will start ... and also sure Konate will too (Keown and Murphy said the same).

N.B. He also said he interviewed Sadio 2 days ago and definitely doesn't believe he is planning to leave.

For the last PL game of the season, strangely I wasn't really nervous or that disappointed afterwards........This feels different...... Already thinking about how to pass the time to kick off......Properly shitting myself.

Not sure I've ever admitted this on here before, but I had to watch the first half of the 2005 Final on a different telly. Switched to Old Faithful for the second half and the rest, as they say, is history.

Road-tested it yesterday BTW and pleased to say it's All Systems Go. 😎

Apparently having an irish wife and irish kids and living here for 25 years isn't enough. They also want over €1K to get an Irish passport
Worth it..no? I'm sure after the first time.. it won't be 1k. Then you'll have the best of both worlds.

I'd start with Thiago too, better to have to sub him after 30 mins than have to re sub the sub if his achillies doesn't hold out having brought him on.

My Aussie brother in law used to just walk through the EU Channel with my sister and they never batted an eyelid at Dublin Airport.

Just woke up in Paris feeling pretty fresh.

We are gonna win this I can feel it.

3-1.

Konate
Salah
Keita
Talking about Konate. My dream last night had us conceding after 7 seconds. Konate with a Karius moment just passing it direct to Benzema (fastest goal in CL history etc etc)..

Perhaps we should start Matip to be on the safe side...

I've no idea at all what those US numbers represent.

From Google

When odds are expressed with a + or a – followed by a number, they are American money line odds: +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player would receive a total payout of $300 ($200 net profit + $100 initial stake).

So 100 is basically evens 200 is 2/1 etc
