What? It's OK for khl to absurdly promote players from his own cuntry, based on nationality?

No it isn't, which os why he takes the occasional - and hugely deserved - kicking

It's not okay but it's easy to see why he is eager to defend one of his 'own' after four games.

It's amusing how Ross was the polar opposite with Robbie Keane.

Isn't it funny in a completely unfunny way how poster who are not automatically having a go at our players calling them cunts etc. from the off are supposedly the ones who needs a kicking on here? Where I come from it would be the other way around actually.

Anyways I've absolutely NOT absurdly promoted Poulsen but please don't let that cloud your judgement. Agger's my soft spot and everyones allowed one or two of those.

I don't have any biases Dave.

Just a straight shooter

I just meant how KHL tries to at least support his compatriots whereas the most of us hate Keane and co.

Then again, Keane is a bit of cunt.

It's a different mindset in the UK.

People hate to see winners. They revel when people fail.

Getting behind your country men is way too much to ask.

Remember, half the English men on this forum didn't even support England at the last WC.

Haven't you just contradicted yourself there. Given that England win fuck all, shouldn't everyone be loving them?

Shelvey plays the holding role very well.

I haven't seen a good performance from poulson yet. He marginally gets better as each game progresses but he's still wank at the full time whistle. He's shit not good enough and never will be. We don't need a defensive mid against blackpool. 4-3-3 is what we need to try. Near enough the same team that finished the game yesterday

Reina
Kelly carra skrtel agger
Mereiles gerrard
Cole
Kuyt torres jovanovic

Sadly Fabio, that team is looking like our strongest one at present based on yesterday's evidence.

Poulson and Gerrard/Mereiles doesn't look like a centre mid partnership that will work but Mereiles - Gerrard might.

Agger isn't really a left back but looked more accomplished there than Konchesky.

Kelly, while having undoubted potential, is still very much untested as a premierhip standard right back, but right now looks a better option there than our £17m one.
And for those calliing for Johnson to be deployed on the right wing, again based on yesterdays evidence, and with his confidence shot at the moment, he doesn't look capable of that role either

if you combine doctor_mac's and fabio's posts, you'll end up with the correct team for our next game.

on the other hand, if you have a fucking stupid jabba chinned moron as your manager, you'll end up with the incorrect team.

im so sick of mangers using excuses for our situation. roy bought poulsen. poulsen is one of the reasons we've been loosing and drawing games.
so he has no fucking right whatsoever to blame anything or anybody.

if you make you're decisions correctly. pick the right team, with sensible tactics. then if we fail, then you can have a reason to pin the blame on the owners, or the referee, or the protest's or the lack of pre season etc etc. buy roy, and rafa before him both fucked it up themselves. because they're both fucking retarded.

or do hick's and gillete have some magical power that is the reason roy is a retard? is that it? you fucking jabba chinned cunt. fuck off resign. now.

five million pounds. fucking really? really roy?

i could have got an advanced saver ticket up to lime street, stopped at a kebab shop then by the time id walked to the ground id have been prepared to pull down my jeans and take a dump in the centre circle. there's poulsen for you. for the price of a train ticket.

I really think that all this 'need a DM' stuff is the biggest footy myth going.

We need to have a look at who are our best players and find a formation to suit them and that gets the best out of them. Not trying to put in shite like Poulsen and Lucas because they 'fit into the system'

Exactly. That said, there is no point in picking 11 players and shoehorning them into an XI, else you end up like Real Madrid.

There's not a doubt in my mind that gerrard and mereiles both have the defensive nous to know when to defend and when to attack

Isn't this the problem with Gerrard and Lampard, I think he and Mereiles are jsut to similar. I really don't get the signing of him as he doesn't fit into our current system without putting Gerrard into a defensive midfield position.

Valid point, but the difference is gerrard and lampard occupy the exact same space, mereiles however doesn't. he's more defensive but can attack, whereas gerrard is more offensive but can defend

Plus I have no doubt that if Gerrard and Lampard were at the same domestic club, they would be a massive success. It is the fact that they are shoehorned together at International level that makes them appear to be a bad fit.
Raul and Gerrard can work together, with SG being the deeper player breaking when required. Maybe against a Chelsea or Scum, then we might need to offer a bit more solidity in the middle of the park, but certainly not vs Sunderland or Blackpool.

i'd be tempted to play agger in a dm position ahead of poulsen. even if we need a player in that position its only for a handful of select games or late on when we're holding on.

i've seen enough of poulsen to know he'll be one of the first players sold next season.

If given the choice of Poulsen and Lucas, i'd chose Poulsen. We are in fucking disaster of a season. I really can't believe it.
