Out of context. I read the full quotes. He's not talking about quitting Chelsea anytime soon.
Respect goes out the window when you become a multi-millionaire player. That said we seem to break the rule. I love how our players still show respect - I'm sure that's on Klopp. This is the context:
““Physically I am fine,” Lukaku told Sky Italy. “But I am not happy with the situation at Chelsea. Tuchel has chosen to play with another system.
“I won’t give up. I will be professional. I am not happy with the situation but I am professional and I can’t give up now.”
Lukaku, who fired Internazionale to the Serie A title in May, said that he hopes to one day return to Inter, adding: “Now it is the right time to share my feelings. I have always said that I have Inter in my head. I know I will return to Inter, I really hope so. I am in love with Italy.”
Seems like a pretty explosive thing to say - imagine one of our star players coming out and criticizing Klopp’s tactics and saying they dream of returning to their previous club!
Reading this made me think of something - Tuchel has already been forced out of PSG because he couldn’t control the dressing room and toxic politics there; now the same is happening to Pochettino. At United there are already murmurs of some players being unhappy with Rangnick; at Chelsea the dressing room is also notoriously powerful and their shifts in mood led to the downfall of many managers. Then there are managers like Ole who choose to coddle the egos and accept their place as below them in the hierarchy - even Ancelotti, great as he is, is like that to some extent. We are one of the few big clubs in the world where the manager is still the most important person in the club - as it should be in my opinion.
£££££The plan is ostensibly to move Rangnick upstairs to DOF next season when they get their new permanent guy in, but who's going to want to go there and try to work on a squad with that kind of attitude? Pochettino was said to be keen on the job, but will he still be after seeing their current displays?
Everything is true but Mourinho didn't cryBest case scenario you end up being the legend who fixed United. Worst case scenario you can dry your tears with a shipping container full of money.
The meltdown after that was delightful.
