I know this is going to be my least popular "brainwave" ever, but I actually think they should use xg instead of penalties. Not cos it's perfect, because it obviously isn't, but because pens are such a ridiculously shit and irrational way to settle a game of football.
Not that I fully understand xG but wouldn't that just lead to taking easy pot shots at the keeper from distance in the last minutes?
We're gonna look like absolute Arsenal if we don't go on to win this league now.

An extra 30 mins of a 1B+ captive audience innit. It's fucking crazy to me that we've had 3 actual World Cups settled on pens and everyone just acts like it's acceptable.

Nullifying Gravy was always going to be a problem for us once teams copped on that every good thing that we did came through him in the early parts of the seaon right up until recently. Slot seemed to recognise this quite quickly however and now we pass it around much more between CB and FB and look for diagonal balls or balls over the top on the break ala Klopp footy. They basically bested us by nullifying Gravenberch and Salah with early challenges and no space or time to settle - seems like a blueprint to beat us if your players have the energy.
I think Chiesa is done for the season. He's not an option for Slot. Right now he's just another body on the bench. Like when we have two keepers on the bench.
What I saw against Plymouth sealed it for me. He's nowhere near fit enough to play.I still don't understand why though. Surely he could be of use for even fifteen minutes.
What is the issue with him?
He’s the best finisher at the club so I’m told!Tonight was the first time I realised I wouldn’t be even slightly disappointed if both Jota and Núñez were shown the door this summer. I’ve been done with Núñez for a while, but I’m starting to feel the same way about Jota. His injuries speak for themselves, but if he can’t deliver in the limited games he actually plays, then what’s the point? The attack has never truly clicked, and this summer is a chance for Slot to shape it in his own vision.
As for the general performance it was decent and improved, but we just lacked the quality in both chance creation and finishing. Lots of hard work went into establishing a platform to win the game and the players didn't make it count. There was a period around 65 minutes when we were well on top with our first eleven on the pitch and I felt we had to take advantage now, otherwise it's a dice roll. We didn't, and the dice landed against us.
The cup final is a nice way to boost moral. We need to move on fast and attack the rest of the year.
I saw this quite a lot in the match thead and I don't buy it.Big money and you need to deliver in the big games. He was missing in both of them in this round.
He’s already on 350k ish. He won’t be after a pay cut. Even on the same money the point stands. You want the big money you stand up in the big moments.
I can just see it - the opposition is down to 10 men, and we go into "dreamy play", one by one players come off until we are left with Darwin vs noone ... and he blazes over the barCrazier idea.
I’d love if the teams are level after 90 mins you take a player from each side off every 3 mins until a winner is scored.
Would bring a whole level of tactics and entertainment with the winner actually having to go and score.
Imagine 6v6 after 15 mins🤣
