Boys in men's bodies though, innit? Football's full of them TBF, on and off the pitch.
I'm honestly not surprised.
What's even worse is seeing kids, we're talking 8-12 year old kids in the stands, flipping people off, doing the V sign etc.
Anything goes I guess...

I noticed an American commented on it in the Guardian's comments on the match report– saying, you'd never see that in America-- and as some people said to him, kids flipping the v-sign and doing a wanker gesture is probably much more acceptable and understandable than some 50-something year old berk who works in a tax office Monday to Friday. It was also pointed out that working class kids don't get to go to big sporting occasions in the US, and if they did, you might see more of it.

My favourite response was that since we don't give our kids guns we need to give them other ways to express their negative energies.

I don't know about all that, my dad would beat the shit out of me if I ever did anything like that.
But I guess it's a culture thing.

Bollocks. It really doesn't take too long of a losing streak for things to reach boiling point in most NFL cities... I've been to many games in Boston and Dallas and a handful in Chicago, Oakland and other spots - There's ALWAYS the threat of agro in parts of the home crowd, especially if the home team isn't great. I've seen more fights in the stands and car parks of Dallas than I ever did back home. There may not be running gangs of knackers all beating lumps out of each other like we grew up watching, but the simmering anger and violence is ever present here too.

Did you read my post or are you responding to something you imagined?

U.S. elite sports are so highly priced you don't get a load of working class yoof scallies in them. I have no idea what you're arguing about.

I was picking up the "you'd never see that in America" line that you posted from somebody else... I'm not arguing with you, I'm refuting what that person initially said.

Also, there are plenty of the US version of scallies at many games I've been to... They're not season ticket holders, and they're up in the nosebleeds, half a mile from the pitch, but they're there. I took the girls to a hockey game last night and we all got upper level (but front row) seats for under $100. You can get similar deals with basketball and even better with baseball ('coz they play 800 games a season!). Granted, the NFL is different, and easily the big dog when it comes to ticket prices, but there are deals to be had (and many such scallies save up all year just to make that one game a season!).

Not picking a ruck with you, mate - Just disagreeing with the person you initially referenced.

He said you'd never see an 8 year old flipping the bird or pulling a wanker gesture.

Ok, I get you now... Fair enough. I thought the 'you'd not see that here' comment was more about the overall anger and general bile being spewed forth during and after the match, versus the kids' behaviour.

I quoted Modo who was making a point about kids doing this....

Understood (now). Initially, I misunderstood the line that I particularly latched on to as meaning the overall situation, and not just relating to the kids... I've already conceded that point, mate.

You don't typically see kids acting that way over here at 8 and 9, that's fair. But once they reach high school (and often middle school) they're off and running, just like we were. 🙂

We can do it again. Fuck the scousers.
[/article]

[article]Was Connor Coady involved? He usually randomly gets involved in Liverpool goals whenever they play against them.
[/article]

[/article]
[article]Feck off Wolves, have those chunts taken a single point from Liverpool since their return to the PL? Have they even scored a feckin goal against them?
