He's a good keeper playing behind a shaky defence
Don't know why people are surprised his confidence was kaput recently
He is an intrinsic part of that shaky defence.
Why should he be absolved of any culpability?

But our centre backs have shown numerous times this season that they can be hazard. I don't blame him being glued to his line because he could be expecting them to fuck up, and wants to be in the best position for any attack. He is an intrinsic part of that shaky defence.

I don't know why we need to discuss about Mignolet this season….if you follow closely enough the games this season, the defence were to blame for the horrendous mistakes and the goals we let in. Majority of them. I would say 15% was Mignolets fault, the rest was the defense fuck up.

Belgium manager @WilmotsMarc has issued a special birthday message for @SMignolet via his official Twitter account today
Wilmots: “Enjoy Simon! Know that I find you an excellent goalkeeper who always shows a professional attitude in accepting my decisions…”
Wilmots: "And always the biggest respect shown to the team & the coaching staff in contrast with what some messages suggested in the media.”
What did he say?
He's got that kinda punchable face, like Danny Welbeck
'Simon can say what he wants, but it won’t make any difference,’
‘I think I have won points for Belgium (in the qualifying campaign), and I play at a high level with Atletico. You have to know how to stay humble and respectful, and he should remember that.
‘It’s not the first time I hear this kind of declaration from him. It’s a pity to read this because I always have been respectful to other keepers, and that is something that should always apply.'‘It does where I play. In Spain, you never hear other keepers saying they are aiming to take the place of Casillas. You don’t hear anything like that from David De Gea, Victor Valdes or Pepe Reina. Instead, they all back Casillas, and that is how it should be.'
"In England, not just in Liverpool, I don't know what to answer when people ask me how I'm not first-choice for the Red Devils.
"I do not try to hide that my ambition is to be number one and preferably before the World Cup. Brazil is still some time away. Despite my ambition, my first priority is that the team is well prepared to deliver a good performance."
"That is much more important than my personal interests."
"I will of course do everything to show my potential but not at the expense of the collective. If I have nothing to do, that's fine by me. It would be proof of our good organisation and efficiency."
"If someone says that he is unfairly left out of the Red Devils' goal, I see that as an attack,"
"It shows that you do not accept the coach's current choice and at the same time that you show no respect for the current number one.
"But I do not want my statements to be taken wrongly, as they were last time.
"Then it sounded like I said Mignolet must show no ambition. That's not true.
"I understand that he has the ambition of becoming the number one for Belgium. I only say you should also respect those who play."
On a related note, I think I've read an article that gave me the impression that the Belgian team is somewhat like the Dutch team of years past - fully capable of self destructing despite all their talent, because they just can't get along with each other. That's quite some time ago that I read that - not sure if it remains a valid criticism.
A bit like the Austrians really being Germans aren't the Belgians by and large Dutch?
