I went to all of those home games and the away game in Auxerre. Do I get an endurance medal?
I went to quite a few as well. Genoa at home, 4-1 down on aggregate, Rushie scores with about 20 to go and we're still celebrating like we've got a chance.

Fuck we were shite in those days.

Glock also sees in future other things. Ye must listen. In year 2525, no men will wear trousers. There will be no sheep, only lambs. Tvs will turn on by flatulence. Copulation will be illegal in Glasgow and Edinburgh. People in Edinburgh won't know this until told what copulation is by people in Glasgow - after which they say they never fancied it anyway. Cooked pies will be one inch deeper. Supermarkets will look like corner shops, and vice-versa. Bob Holness will recede to age of a baby. Vegetables will kill. It will be cold at all times. And the world will be run by border collies.

one match would have turned a 'good' return into a 'fantastic' return for rafa.
I've obviously talking about the 2007 CL final. had we won that rafa's record would have read;
two CL titles and an FAC in 5 years. small margins...
that's what happens when we start with zenden, play pennant, leave crouch off for most of the game and whilst i was no bellamy fan i thought he would have destroyed that geriatric defence with his pace.

in europe i really rate rafa but i think he got it wrong big time that night
And yet people who really know about football have that game down as Pennant's best in a red shirt. Albeit there's not a lot of competition.
really? no one i know considers that to have been pennant's best in a red shirt. from what i saw they let pennant have the ball as all he was capable of was that chipped float cross of his. the pennant mom that night is a myth

pennant's best game for us was against chelsea in the league where he took the piss out of cashly
if rafa had gone at milan we would have turned them over. I suspect rafa was cautious because the last time we went at milan in the first half we got raped.

Ha, the Lahti game too when Saunders go a hat-trick and everyone left thinking we had a world-beating striker on our hands.

I remember watching the Auxerre away game and spending the first 45 minutes confused as to why we didn't have 'Carlsberg' on our shirts.

I was at the Lahti game. I brought Rory for his 10th birthday. It was pants.

Deano scored four and Rayo the other two, if I remember correctly. And their goal was a Nicky Tanner howler past Mike Hooper, knocking it past him from outside the box, despite having already looked up and seen him advancing on the ball...

Freezing night, we got there hours early, so Rory could soak up the atmosphere (that I anticipated, but never arrived) and got to yell "Hello Alan" at Alan Hansen as he walked past us to take up his place in the comentary box thingie.

Amoung my "worst" Anfield trips, though it must be said that trip to Liverpool, like Sex and Pizza, even when bad, they're still pretty f#$!ing good.

That's utter shite, I'm afraid. Hooper was a solid back up 'keeper who did decently when called upon especially when Grobs was out for a prolonged period of time with meningitis. He also was preferred to Grobs and James as first choice for several months. Why would we have to play Hooper because of the foreigner rule when from 1992 David James was also at the club who is also, wait for it, English.

If you must needlessly disrespect former Liverpool players do be sure of these facts.

That game in Moscow was one of the first horrible intimations of the horror to come. Marsh went mad, Grob went mad, the whole team rapidly went mad. I remember Hansen, not that long retired, watching in the studio, looking stunned.

That night vs Auxerre was my first night on the Kop without my Dad. It was exhilarating. And I spent 3 hours in the players lounge afterwards courtesy of a pass in to meet my Dad and his pal George Sephton.
Best. Night. Ever.
That was my first night also.... it was a fucking cracker and the atmosphere went mental.

James was young, raw, and wildly inexperienced, hence why he didn't get the gig. I'm well aware of our options at the time. Hooper was not good mate, he made some absolute howlers.
