[rafa won in europe, souness wasn't allowed to compete in europe (thank god)
Souness managed us in Europe. Fans can recall that.
it is factually correct though.

you can't judge a manager for failing to win a european tournament we were banned from playing in.

souness record of 1 FA Cup is identical to rafa's record.

oh and i never wanted souness in charge of us.
Liverpool's European ban ended in 1991, the year Souness became manager of Liverpool. Despite that fact you make a good point, Rage. How can Souness be blamed for not winning the European Cup when those bastards at FIFA wouldn't even let him have a try because his team finished 6th with 64 and 59 points respectively in his two full seasons in charge.

souness was shit, i'm not disputing that. my point really is even such a shit liverpool manager (the worst in my living memory) has to date as successful a domestic trophy room as rafa.

did souness manage us in europe? i really can't remember

Err... weren't we banned until the 91/92 season? Souey was in charge until 94. I know he had the unfortunate issue of replacing an ageing team and missing out on Europe initially but anyway.

Factual and all that though, of course Rage is a 'proper' fan, goes the game and knows his history don't yer know!?

Only a brainless cunt would put Rafa on a par with Souness, given we've won the CL, the FA Cup, finished 2nd twice (in a far more competitive league), finished runner up in a CL final and a League Cup Final, and won the (not so worthy) Community Shield and Super Cup.

Rage is a bellend.
To be precise, we finished 2nd once Mark.

Wow, Traore has more Champions League Winners Medals than fat Ronaldo.

Go figure.

must have been a mickey mouse cup winners cup then.

domestic trophy cabinet is the same though and i remember what was said when rafa was brought in. it was for the league was it not?

To be even more precise, that was 1991 when Dalglish left in February with the team top of the league with three months to go.

Ha, I was thinking of the season before last, apologies.

one match would have turned a 'good' return into a 'fantastic' return for rafa.
I've obviously talking about the 2007 CL final. had we won that rafa's record would have read;
two CL titles and an FAC in 5 years. small margins...

that's what happens when we start with zenden, play pennant, leave crouch off for most of the game and whilst i was no bellamy fan i thought he would have destroyed that geriatric defence with his pace.

in europe i really rate rafa but i think he got it wrong big time that night

"Domestic trophy" my arse !

So I take it you were spitting feathers back in May '05 ?

Doesn't really count or matter you prawn ?

He can't remember - or even look up - the fact that Souness managed us for two seasons in Europe. he can't remember - or look up - the British quota system Souness had to cope with. Yet he claims to be able to judge all Liverpool managers in his 'living memory'. So I guess he's about 15. That would explain the inability to write - and think - like a grown-up (and all of the 'cock' references).

Auxerre 91. My very own St. Etienne 77 or Inter 65.

It was a really good match. Amazing atmosphere, considering the stage in the contest. I guess people had been waiting for a good night for so long.

And yet people who really know about football have that game down as Pennant's best in a red shirt. Albeit there's not a lot of competition.

That night vs Auxerre was my first night on the Kop without my Dad. It was exhilarating. And I spent 3 hours in the players lounge afterwards courtesy of a pass in to meet my Dad and his pal George Sephton.
Best. Night. Ever.

really? no one i know considers that to have been pennant's best in a red shirt. from what i saw they let pennant have the ball as all he was capable of was that chipped float cross of his. the pennant mom that night is a myth

pennant's best game for us was against chelsea in the league where he took the piss out of cashly
