Bringing a sub on to waste time, with one minute to go, whilst drawing at Anfield annoys me slightly.

I think its fair to say Klopps in game management has been really poor so far, the number of points we have thrown away from winning positions suggests hes reacting too late to changes

That's 2 bad performance in 3 games now for Clyne - I wonder if being an almost ever-present in the team is now starting to take its toll on him. He's already played 43 games for us now, and will have a high octane game against Dortmund in midweek.

That's bullshit. He played well. Got beat by a very good player in excellent form. He made several key blocks before that and babysat a real liability all game.

Generally he had a good game certainly better than Moreno or Sakho but he was rolled way too easily for the goal, it was obvious what Kane was going to look to do and Lovren totally misread it and got too close to him to recover once he had spun away

As against that, we have one of the highest percentages, if not the highest, of games rescued from losing positions in the Prem.

22 goals in the Premiership from Harry Kane. Great player, so reliable and talented. Spurs are very fortunate to have him and Dele Alli.

Shame Harry's tongue is far too big for his mouth
Alli was well below par today.

Kane is probably the best striker in the Premiership.

I think Aguero is better. Kane does seem to have it all, though. Apart from genuine pace, but like Shearer, doesn't appear to need it.

He's so superbly clinical and never stops moving.

Really impressed with Henderson today btw.. His fitness and physique is quite outstanding and he also hit some wonderful direct passes.

Yep, a much better performance by him, probably because he was up against Dier and Delli Alli, the two England boys who've been showing him up.

I don't get why on corners, he's always aroud the keeper? He's fairly good in the air - could be more of an asset for them.

Yeah Henderson was solid today - some of the short subtle touches and passes he made to get the attack flowing were excellent. Jamie Redknapp was pointing out in the pre-game talk about how Alli and Kane had struck up a great understanding and how Alli was always looking to surge forward, break the defensive line and get into the box, and he showed that clearly in the game. He didn't finish the chances he had but some of those runs he made would've put the fear in centrebacks and keepers.

What impresses me with Kane apart from how clinical he is as you say is his technique. He rarely loses the ball even under pressure and can turn defenders too.

Aguero is the better player but as an out and out striker I'd be tempted to pick Kane over him.

That's your opinion. My opinion is that Lovren could have done better.

He could have done better, he was in a slightly strange position. Admittedly most strikers wouldn't have scored, but anyway.

Lovren did play well apart from that one small mistake

He brainfarted at the end too when Rose almost managed to cross the ball to whoever they had in the box but Moreno cleared it.

Harsh. Very very harsh. It was a great goal that I doubt any CB could have done anything to prevent. It was Clyne's fault for not handballing it when Eriksen pulled it back.

Nah, it was not smart defending at all. He didn't read it well. It's the difference between a top CB and a so-so one, and unfortunately, none of ours are top class.

I wonder if they even watch tapes of our opponents. Kane uses his body to turn defenders almost on a weekly basis. Someone like Hyypia would have read that a mile away, and positioned himself perfectly.

He's won us loads of points with his subs aswell.

Exactly. You observe the opposition, you work out what they tend to do. Lovren was really poor I thought, yes he made some good interceptions and clearances, but we were lucky we weren't already a goal down from that effort in the first half where he backed of and backed off and then literally stood aside to let Kane have a shot, that on another day he would have buried. Sakho was even worse with his shite, erratic passing and overall ability to put the shits through the rest of the backline. Fuck them both off.

As a side note, I thought the Ibe/Milner sub nearly bit us on the arse too, Ibe looking nervy (not surprising given recent form), he hit a terribly overhit pass into Clyne, which Clyne was then forced to clear upfield on the stretch, which went straight to Spurs gifting them another counter which led to another chance and then a further corner. It was a daft sub at that stage, we were needing to see the game out and Milner was working his bollocks off.

Lovren wasnt poor. Not even close. Yes, he could have done better for the goal but overall he had a good game.

I'd be willing to go;

Clyne Lovren Matip Hector next season. And not change 3 CBs.

Hansern, he got turned for the goal and his defending for the chance in the first half was amateurish, completely poor schoolboy stuff. He's not good enough. He might have had an upturn in form and the odd game he's dominated, but by and large he's a pretty incompetent defender who is living off one good season in the Premiership.

So he "wasn't even close to being poor", yet the one goal we let in he was hugely culpable for. How does that work? He was poor, he excelled in some aspects but was completely let down by his trademark inability to do it for 90 minutes and to generally have at least one catastrophic lapse in him. He had two but got away with the first one.

It's amazing that you were quick to jump on Skrtel two weeks ago for his first poor game in ages (and first game after a lengthy injury), but you'll defend a player who's mostly been awful for us.

The harsh truth is that bar Clyne, the last competent defensive player we bought was in 09/10 and that was fucking Johnson.
