It's not the first time he's been average or anonymous then pulled a beauty of a pass out. Obviously he has the ability, just needs consistency, which should hopefully come with experience.

I doubt he'll be one of these that suddenly looks sensational, but gradually he'll get better and then a couple of years down the line we'll have a very good player.

From my point of view both are fucking ridiculous sums of money.

If my current salary is maintained from now until I retire (assume that is 65) Mr Henderson will exceed that in 24 months even at the lower figure. Premier league footballers are paid salaries that do not, in any way, allow for any relationship to the made to 'normal salaries.

I was crying out for Jonjo to replace Henderson at half time. That pass was perfect though.

Gerrard was brilliant when he came on. I don't agree with man of the match, that was Bellamy for me.

Carroll came alive when Gerrard came on. Carroll's movement was better than people are giving him credit. When poor balls were put in by Downing/Enrique/Jonson/Adam he was in the places I thought were right. Just we couldn't beat the 1st man.

Which is why comparing Henderson's salary to that of a janitor or whatever makes no fucking sense unless you are trying to stir the masses into storming the Bastille or something. Instead we compare his salary to his peers.

He was atrocious against Wigan, non existent against Blackburn and the same again tonight - Is it not ok to be a tad concerned?

His work-rate has dropped well off, and his delivery from set pieces is getting worse by the game.

Plenty of positives from last night: coming back from a goal down, scoring 3 goals, realising that there is life without Suarez, getting some snap back in midfield with Jay; and Steven Gerrard reminding us of what we've missed and what a great player he is. A night game at Anfield always seems to bring out the best in the fans and atmosphere as well. More of the same please.

I'll admit Henderson & Spearing put a shift in, allowing Stevie to drift a fair bit, which got the best out of him & Carroll, but overall Henderson's game was poor by his standards, that's simply cos he wasn't being played in his best position.

Having said that he's improving when played in other areas, which is a great sign, as I thought he may have to play in the centre or not at all, there's some signs he may grow enough in other areas to be an asset in a number of positions.
