Match Thread Spurs (A) - Coca Cola Cup Semi First Leg - Weds 20:00

Slot hasn't won a game of football in a week, so I'm just hoping he's angry enough to demand more in the run of games that on paper we should be winning and moving clear of Arsenal. If we are to lose then an away tie in the League Cup is the time to do it.

Konate, Bradley, Tsimikas Jota are all coming back from injury and it showed. We grew into the game but there was a general lack of will and urgency to break the deadlock. Meh
You mean Slot has not won a single game in 2025, SlotOut Now !!!!

Quansah looked nervy before he went off. I don't think a title run in is the time to determine whether he is going to mature into a top player or not. Gomez injured and Konate looking rusty on his return... looking pretty thin at the back.

Konate is always rusty for a few games when he returns. He'll be ok, the bigger issue is we all know he'll get injured again. Same with JoGo.

Our last clean sheet in the league was against City on the 1st of December. We've shipped 11 goals since then. Injuries aside it feels like the composure at the back we had initially has gone AWOL. I was hoping we'd sign a striker this window but now I'm in the CB + LB camp.

I don’t even think we were bad. At times they couldn’t get the ball off us. Yea we had times where we were giving them the ball but Ali didn’t really have saves to make. He made us shit ourselves than spurs did.

You could tell our full backs were lacking match fitness. We lost an over eager kid and replaced him with a ninja out of position and we had a centre forward who needs to get into rhythm.

To me it was just another step in getting ready for Forest.

We will muller them at home. It’s fucking spurs.

Thin at the back, thin in midfield, thin up top.

Other than that though.....things are looking up you would say?

I don't disagree that we need a CB and/or a fullback but equally, if we don't strengthen up front, we'll lose the league. Nunez is as donkey brained as ever, while Jota... he's got Aggeritis. He'll get injured, have his reputation grow in his absence/Nunez's presence, have a short purple patch of a couple of games on his return to tease us all, then be shite until he gets injured again. On repeat over and over again.

I know this will hurt but Alisson needs taking out the team before it gets worse. Defence has fell off a cliff since he came back into the team. Same happened last season on the run in.

He’s developed saveitis

We conceded 3 at Newcastle and 2 at Southampton mate, including a keeper howler that cost us 2 points. We conceded 1 goal tonight in a phase where we had 10 men on the pitch.

The defence has been an issue for ages (mainly the lazy fucker at RB) but notwithstanding, our defence is basically Virg.

There’s a stat saying he’s conceded 9 goals from the last 12 shots he’s faced. That’s an issue now

Well sure there is, because we give up big chances in our 18 yard box, actually it’s closer than that when you revisit Peirera’s, Ayew’s, Solanke’s and Diallo’s goals. Nobody wants to talk about the defence when we’re keeping clean sheets so long as Ali is bailing them out time and time again do they? As good as Ali is, we can’t keep gifting these big chances and expecting him to be our saviour.

If i had faith that we will turn a corner by then, i'd be more positive.

Players are miserably out of form, and it's only really Szob to come back. He's clearly been missed, but that doesn't excuse some of the drops in level weve had

Szob makes salah better imo ...
It's a struggle now but these happen ... game by game, and hopefully, they turn it around ...
I think the team is capable of doing it ...

Our last clean sheet was 1,5 weeks ago against West Ham.

Oops, I stand corrected. They don't count though cause they're fucking shite. It feels like we were rock solid at the back and now we're leaking like an old man's nappy. It must be driving Slot insane. Hopefully further rest for Konate at the weekend and for most regular startes allows us to get our shit together.

Agreed. Its not like we are conceding that many chances from open play either. Its been down to sloppy mistakes and poor defensive involvements from ourselves. Must be driving him mad.
