I got a text of a Utd supporting mate, saying 'Fuck me, what a clearance, I just cheered it. Now I feel dirty'

He also text me after the game saying he think Carroll will come good & is happy about it cos he wants a good Euro 2012 run & thinks Stevie & Carroll will provide the impetus.

He is actually relatively decent for a manc. He's worked in Liverpool for 8 years & most of his best mates, & fiancée are Liverpool fans.

Yah, I like him a lot too ... Will learn to impose himself on games more with time, but the talent is there.

I thought of him after, and i'm sure theres a bunch of others. Was more of an *in the moment* post lauding how incredible Gerrard is and how good the crossing quality was compared to others on our team.

No, it wasn't Agger (No. 5) - he's the guy who was beaten out on the left. I'm talking about the guy in the centre who was walking as the Newcastle players streamed into the box to his left. In the clip, there's Reina, Agger, <unknown>, The Amazing Skrtel and I think Johnson.

Good diagonal run by Ba to get to the ball and a neat turn and shot in one motion.

Suarez is a world class player. Carroll isn't and will probably never be.
Suarez tears defenses for fun. Carroll will never do that.
With Suarez up front rival defenders are always on top alert. With Carroll it's much easier for them.
Anita, I don't think these two are comparable.

I think Ba has all the attributes of a really top player. He got next to no service, and our defenders played him well, but he still was a menacing prospect. If Newcastle would swap for Jimmy I'd do it in a nano second.

Although it was cleared, that was very cool finish by Ba. I think he's a class act.
