How can a player still not be match-fit and ready by January? I know he's had a few niggles, but even so, it seems strange.

My only slight consolation is that we were starting to say similar things about Fabinho, and that turned out just fine in the end. That said, the six role under Klopp was very high risk if a player didn’t fully understand what was expected of them. In comparison, there’s no major tactical risk in giving Chiesa minutes, so it’s hard to understand the delay.

It’s all a bit odd. If he doesn’t get himself sorted in the second half of the season, I’ll be joining the campaign to stop Italians from signing for Liverpool and wishing them upon our rivals instead. The scouts can fuck their jaunts off to the Amalfi coast right off.
