Again, according to you. I guess Lucas inconsistent enough to be in the Brazil squad.

I see you ignored the post which shows Liverpool fans rate Hendersons performances as better than lucas

That's fine

On a lighter note, name another brazilian DM who's not shite in your opinion.

Lucas is in the squad because there's no one else to keep him out.

Edit: just saw you mention the post. Yes, that's a barometer for it, as it shows its not just my opinion.

I enjoy Modo being backed in to a corner, and just having to "lol" his way out.

Ramirez, Luis Gustavo.

Good, but it's still a flawed way of judging players, doesn't take into account when several players on the pitch were good, often highlights those who've scored goals or assisted goals.

Also Paulinho isn't in direct competition with Lucas. It's Luis Gustavo.

Lucas is a DM, Paulinho is a CM and scolari plays with two deep lying midfielders like we do.
It's like saying Gerrard is keeping Lucas out despite them playing different roles.

Ramires isn't a proper DM

Luis gustavo I don't get why he doesn't get picked. Infinitely better than lucas.

And hendo hasn't really hasn't assisted or scored many goals this season, yet he's still getting picked by fans

Not going to go back through what looks like an argumentative thread.

Henderson was boss today.

He looks like a bastard to play against. He's just so energetic. He is doing a terrific job, and if he manages to improve his finishing, could be a real star for us. Have to say, during the game I was thinking about Gene's response to someone saying we should play Moses instead of Hendo in this game. That's fucking why you don't, I thought.

Fucking yeah. I forgot that. Who was that fartbrained maniac anyway? I can't remember.

Yup. His tireless running is proving in valuable. While he lacks the subtlety sometimes in that role, his willingness to press and harass leads to mistakes and openings. Different types of player again, but he's given us some of that energy we lost with Mascherano.

How anyone can criticise Henderson for not performing at a top level (as he clearly did today) on a regular enough basis, and then point to Lucas as a shining example of such attributes is beyond me.
Lucas has had years to adapt and fit into the squad and is still average most games.

It is OK to praise a player without having to put another down you know. Nothing wrong with Lucas today either.

Yup, I thought him and Allen did what you want from your engine room, kept it simple, protected the back four and laid the foundations for the players infront of them to build on, allowing them license to interchange positions on the break, by filling in the gaps and stopping Spurs on the counter. Great performance all round.

henderson with goals is potentially a world class player - almost lampardesque. He is a long way from that, but if he can chip in with 10 + league goals a season that will be great.

I remember asking @Binny for a comparison a couple of months back and yeah Lampard was way ahead on goals but it was not as miles off as you may think for the age/games/positions. A lot more energy to Henderson as well.

@King Binny obviously

They were just showing some of Hendo's passes again on MOTD. Some were just gorgeous. The one he hit without even looking, diagonally from the centre circle to the left wing - wonderful stuff.

I'm hoping that game will switch something on with the lads confidence. He's got the ability, he just needs to believe in himself a bit.

Another note about Henderson today. There was a point when he was pressing Walker in Spurs half, he managed to get away from him by passing to another Spurs player, Henderson looked around and look horrified that someone wasn't pressing the guy he passed to, to cut the option off, it was great to see his determination and that fact he expects the team to press as a team.
