Jordan Henderson

Nah. Normally he's bang average. Steadily improving, but bang average most of the time

Indeed. These kind of performances have been fleeting at best. He usually puts in a good one just when you've convinced yourself he's shit again. That's what makes him such a frustrating player.

Perhaps Stevie's injury will be the making of him. Or perhaps he'll be horribly average for another couple of months. I hope it's the former but I'm by no means confident at this stage.

Well I'm a glass is half full type of person but I've seen real positives in him this season. Sunday he was rightly motm. That's an achievement in itself given that one of the best players on the planet (someone who is in stunning form AND scored two goals) was also on the pitch.

Anyway I'm sure everyone here wants him to keep putting in performances like that.

I don't believe that. The best player on the pitch last weekend was Suarez.
I think it was a somewhat sentimental choice to pick Henderson and I can understand that.
But Luis had a hand in all the goals, scored two himself, captained the team impeccably, what more can you ask of him?

Yep, I think Henderson deserved the plaudits because he had such a contrasting game, whereas you expect it more often than not from Suarez. I put Luis as my MOTM, followed by Hendo, but he was excellent and has been steadily more consistent over the last 18 months. The midfield itself hasn't been firing on all cylinders all season, but maybe it's just a case of bad combinations/poor positioning. Maybe that tweak with Allen has now made the difference, coupled with natural progression from both him and Henderson.

As said the other day, 9 of our players the other day were 24 and under, so we will hopefully see the likes of Sterling, Hendo, Allen and even Flanno (hopefully) steadily get better and better.

Hmmm - That's a good point regarding Suarez being captain. He certainly rose to the challenge. Maybe I've just grown accustomed to Suarez being amazing. Whether or not he was motm is a bit of moot point really don't you think? Hendo had a fabulous match and I'm made up he got the plaudits.

I wonder if United fans and other fans condemn their own midfields while pointing at Liverpool and saying how we're lucky to have the England captain, two young promising midfielders (and Lucas) as ours? Sometimes it's about perspective, I look at United's and I don't see anything to fear, and while Everton are doing well, in the longterm I wouldn't be terrified about Osman, Barry and McCarthy. Barkley's clearly a promising talent, but it's early days.

Yeah, you know what I mean. He's about as Welsh as me. Oh hang on..
Guh, making a typo whilst correcting someone which made your post say the same wrong thing the person you were correcting was saying, is that irony? Lol.

Just entered a low signal area as I sent it too, so couldn't correct it in time!!!

That's true it's pretty pointless to single someone out. I guess we're at that point where we expect that Suarez should be amazing in every game he plays. If someone's performance is close to Suarez' he stands out.

lol.. I've done that a few times with Allen now, I think it's because I always think of him in that GB team at the Olympics.

100% agree,

I'd play better if those teeth were talking to me ....

I was hoping we'd get an update from Brendan's teeth actually, they must have been working overtime after all that smiling following the Spurs win.
