Let's say we get Timber plus 2 more MFs. Now I imagine Fabs becomes a CB when needed, where does this leave Gomez?

And Baresi, but they also never played in the PL.
Ake & Silva aren't the tallest.

Neither is Ben Mee, he was a guest on a Sky show last month which showed he's #1 of defenders for aerial battles won and he said he was just shy of 6'

No they're not the tallest, there's always exceptions to the rule.
I can't think of one great CB that is the same height or shorter than Timber.

Are Ake and Ben Mee what we're going for?

Maguire and Jones are way taller. I would not go for them either.

It's fairly uncommon to have CB's under 6' anywhere in football so it's illogical to say it's either a good or bad thing....we can all pick apart what players weaknessed might be, he's too weak or he's too slow, too short, too tall or whatever, I prefer to focus on what he's good at.

They're not what we're going for Ake and Mee are established Prem CB's that win a lot of headers despite being shorter than most.....

Not being 6'4 and aerially dominant has never hindered Gomez, not when we won the league/CL and not now.....his problems have always been in the mind, not being alert, switched on etc.

Possesses some real tekkers to his game that’ll able him to deputy as a midfielder if needs be, all round talented player. We miss a midfielder that’s able to draft past other midfielders.

Yeah, let's just see if it happens and where he ends up playing

He’d plainly not be under consideration as a straightforward Cb in a back four, given our shift towards Trent’s new positioning (so in possession he’d be one of the three cbs alongside some units in Vvd and Konate ) and need for proper DM competition.

I can absolutely see this happening.

Given his experience as a RB and possible transitition to DM. He might also be a player that can step in for Trent if he needs to be rotated or is out injured. He wont have the same attacking contribution but we as a team might be able to at least continue with the same tactical approach.

I read a stat somewhere that at Ajax, he won only half as many aerial duels as (his equally short partner) Lisandro Martinez.

So yeah not looking like the CB we usually go for

Much like Matip's and Naby's before they arrived......close to perfect.

Last 2 seasons (including this) for club and country......don't class ill or stomach complaints as an injury.

Back in the day, I loved Paul Parker (who was fairly short if I recall) ... until of course he became a manc. But pre-manc he was boss

Height in CBs isn't the be all end all. It can be exposed, but if you have a proactive and intelligent CB, height rarely matters.

The fact he can play RB, and has the attributes fo a great DM, i'm elated

plus, fucking banger of a tune as Brizzle has subtlety alluded to
