What do we do with Ibe this season? He is probably too important and talented to send out on loan. I initially thought we were wrong to call him back in Jan but I didn't expect him to impact games for us so quickly.

A year playing in the premiership would do him the world of good but we probably need to keep him and play him ourselves. He's a fantastic talent. He can beat a defender for fun. My only concerns is his habit to hog the ball. He was holding onto the ball too long last pre season but he has improved this part of his game. I'm excited to see what he can do next season and whether he can turn that pace and power into some important goals and assists.

I want to see him on the bench for all PL matches, coming on as defenders tire. Start him in minor cups and the EL. He may become Sterling MkII and become a regular starter in the 2nd half of the season if his progression continues apace.

Yup.

Just put him in easy situations first that he's likely to succeed in first.

Let him get more comfortable in the Premiership, get a few goals. Then look to use him more in the second half of the season

Don't understand what would make anyone think he's going on loan or not about to see much game time? He's amazing and Rodgers rates him, he'll be first on the team sheet by December.

He was brought back from Derby last January and was a permanent first team fixture, when fit, for the rest of the season. Why would we send him on loan?

When Ibe runs with the ball he has that physical presence and pace that reminds me a little bit of Bale or Ronaldo. We can only dream we have that sort of quality on our hands, but he's looked completely at home in almost every game he's played for us, and he's certainly good enough to play a lot of games.

No, Sterling's very good but I think Ibe has the potential to be even better. I always have thought that.

Ditto, for quite a while and why I really wasn't upset at losing Sterling (that and Raheem's shooting & finishing is shite).

Impact sub in the league with fleeting starts, starts all Europa League and League Cup games, simple.

Apropos Ibe, he may very well turn out to be better than Sterling...he's certainly more direct. For playing and non-playing reasons Sterling's departure is good news for Ibe.

We all saw what he could do against Everton. He has what it takes to be great. Hope he gets it right. Seems to have more overall balance than Sterling.

For the first half of the season we are effectively going to need 2 separate teams, one for Thursdays and one for weekends. I reckon Ibe will be in the Thursday night team pretty much every week til until he makes the step up from prospect to first teamer. I expect Ibe Markovic Gomez Ings Toure Can Origi will be the core of the Thursday nights in eastern Europe brigade along with players who need to build up fitness or the occasional run out for a youngster like Kent or Rossiter.

Ibe is a year younger though and Sterling came into the first team a bit earlier.
Two very different players but the potential is pretty similar.

Hopefully Ibe's attitude and dedication will take him further than Raheem.
Big year for him though. Needs to add a few goals to his game aswell.
Was close yesterday and can see him scoring on monday.

I have to say Im somewhat mystified by people who think Ibe is well on his way to being a better player than Sterling. From about the age of 17 it was obvious to anybody who cared to look that Sterling was going to be a top class player. Ibe will be 20 this year and hes still not cemented his position as a first team player yet, obviously player mature at different rates but Ibe has to improve a hell of a lot this season if hes going to get to Sterlings level. The major criticisms of Sterlings game was that he was a poor finisher and his decision making is suspect, however he easily scored more goals in the Premiership than Ibe did in the Championship. As far as I can see Origi is far more likely to reach the level Sterling did based on what we have seen so far
