We're not very good.
"What we've done in the early part of the summer is to improve the squad. That's something I feel we've done with the players we've brought in. I'm sure by the time the end of August comes we'll be ready and we'll have a terrific squad ready to challenge."
the bottom line is there are many outstanding players here - top, top players.
I've got a great group here that I think will get better - that's something that we aim to do, always improve.
We've got enough cover.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits he is finding it difficult to give some of his fringe players pitch time because his first-choice side are playing so well.
"There's no doubt the quality in our squad, with all due respect, isn't big enough to cope with two big players like that missing," he said
In fairness to Rodgers he did start the game with a few headaches. Apart from Sturridge being unavailable - a huge problem - apparently Coutinho had an ankle injury so I question whether he should have even been on the bench. I think he was a bit inhibited by it when he did come on.
I don't think he grasps the logic of the situation. By saying a Liverpool team, minus two first choice players, can't beat a Hull City team, also missing one or two first choice players, then he's not just suggesting the squad needs strengthening, he's also suggesting this squad is weaker than one of the worst teams to get promoted for many years. That's a shameful admission that deserves far more critical attention in the media than it's so far received.
If we can stumble through this season with some good results, some bad, and finish in the top 4, I'll be over the moon.

Is he ?
I think it's just as simple as when things go right he expects to receive the credit - he sometimes explains at length in press conferences why it's due to him.
When things go wrong it's everyone else's fault.
The problem is he hasn't got a fluky Champions League win to put in front of us so we can see through this bullshit pretty quickly with him.

or the flukey c l quarter final, or c l semi final or c l losing final
Rodgers just said in the presser that the team improved when Coutinho came on 'because he plays the forward pass'. So we have this much-improved squad, coached by a great coach, but there's only one player in it who knows how to play the forward pass? I don't know why the hacks let such guff go unchallenged.
He is right though, .
Yeah, but that's an appalling admission from someone who managed to get a Swansea team look as though all of its players knew how to pass forward. What the fuck has been going on at training during the past year?
Or fluking Leverkusen, Juventus and Chelsea blah blah blah.
This past year has been good on the pitch, if we have our main front 3 and Gerrard playing we don't need anything from anyone else, they do the buisness.
With 2 quality midfielders we would see a huge difference, the squad isn't that great especially the midfield which its way below the standard required and yeah that has to be Rodgers fault, hes had 3 windows although you could argue thats not enough time for him to sort all the problems he inherited, its not really but he has wasted money so he can't complain to much, im confident he knows sorting midfield is essential and is focussed on sorting it asap, though it might have to be next summer until we get that top end midfielder.
I know yesterday was bad, and it was pretty fucking dire, BUT, at the start of the season, would any of you taken 'in the top 4 at the beginning of December'? I know I fucking would of. Regardless of what the others are upto, or how far behind/infront they are, I think being in the top 4 at this point, with our squad, is marvellous.

seriously seems like we got the wrong guy... the time when Martinez finishes ahead of this clown. Its beginning to look more and more likely that Martinez did that.
